A little hope is all I need to continue. It's a thankless task this business of helping cycling idiots see the truth about Ole Lanceless One Nut - that feckless D-bag and money launderer for the US Postal Service.

Awesome.

I see reading comprehension isn't your strong suit.

...and yes, there are other people with such an unhealthy obsession of anger with Armstrong that they lie, make false accusations, ignore what doesn't fit their agenda and attack/insult anyone who does not agree with everything they say. Interestingly very few of them actually ride a bike since they spend all of their time seething on message boards.

Poor, poor Lance. Hounded so badly he lost all his medals. Living in disgrace, he has to sell Nike Mankini just to pay the rent.
We weep for the disgraced hero.
Leave Britney alone!

You're not helping to expose Armstrong. Anyone who cares has heard of the allegations, read up as much as they cared to and formed their own opinion one way or another. Anyone who doesn't care now is going to care less and less as time passes. To both groups you are the equivalent of a crazy bum with urine stained pants carrying a sign and spouting gibberish.

Geez. I wish this Lancey this Lance that talk would just move on. He is done. Finished. Out of the sport. Cycling today is trying To clean up its image from the doping of Lance's era. It is time for Lance and his band of Livestrong cronies to move on.

Post of the year! Whether a person agrees(which I do) or not does not matter. Heck of a comeback and very funny!

Incorrect. For the most part the gear changes your talking about at this level are moving from say an 11-23 to an 11-28, which is as simple as changing a wheel.

Second, they basically tear down and reassemble the bikes everyday anyway, so not a big deal at all for a pro team mechanic to set up a bike for a particular stage.

At the 2003 TDF, we stayed at the same hotel one stage as the IBanesto team, and we watched the mechanics do this. They even stripped and reglued tubulars on the wheels.

A quick FYI. It is pointless to report 10+ day old posts made by a banned member.
Jesus wept.

Close but not exactly. He demanded a new needle after every stage. He's not a fan of recycling. It's true.

Is this true? I didn't think he was that much of a princess.

As far as I know this is not true. But there is still a smigen of truth to this in that Lance had more bikes just for him than most other pro riders. As far as I know Lance had four bikes at major races. A standard road bike, a standard road bike back-up just for him set up just like the first bike. A TT bike and a special bike for mountain stages which was right at the absolute minimum bike weight. Lance also rode with a new chain every two stages or so during the TDF.

Most racers in the Pro teams would only have two bikes. A standard road bike and TT bike. GC guys may have also have a mountain stage bike just for them. Domestiques would probably only have one standard road bike and used a shared TT bike that would fit them for certain races.

During big races the bikes are tore down and re-setup for the next days stage. So gearing can change, problems fixed. An extra wrap of bar tape to help sore hands, new chain and cleaned drivetrain, etc, etc.
