Bikes: Specialized Tarmac Expert, 2002 TREK 520, Schwinn Mesa WINTER BIKE, Huffy Rock Creek 29er, 1970s-era Ross ten speed. All my bikes are highly modified(except the Tarmac) yet functional, and generally look beat to ****. .

Maybe you just need to see sprinting from a new perspective.

I just don't "get" Nascar and no amount of time listening to the fanatics or laps done in my Volvo are going to help me bridge over. to enjoying the "go fast, turn left" scene anywhere near what many others do. However, I'm relatively OK with Formula 1, if not necessarily enthusiastic.
I find it odd that the OP is a fan of attrition on the climbs but gets no kick form the bunch sprints. It's not like we're trying to sell you on bike racing in general, just a little slice of it.
I do think learning a bit about the strategy and sprint trains and risks and craziness might help pique your interest a bit. But at the same time, my buddy Billy Bob swears if I new what a single psi of tire pressure or a couple of twists of some bolt would do I'd have a whole different view of Nascar. Still waiting on that revelation....

Sprints are the best part of the race, always lots of thrills and spills. Sorry about the language in this tape, but you get the the point they make. Renshaw and Cav are a great team.

It has occurred to me that maybe I'm missing something. I just don't get much out of the sprint finishes while many here get all worked up into a lather over Cav and Sagan. I've never raced, is that the problem? Do you have to have raced to understand it. I see the speed, I see the effort, but being a non-racer it just doesn't do it for me like a mountain top finish or the decimation of the peloton on a greweling climb. I'm not a nube, I've been watching the Tour since the Indurain days, I should get it, I don't. Help me out.
