Do you think Tom Danielson will take Floyd's spot in the Tour this year? He may lack experience in the grand tours but he can climb like a mountain goat. I hope he gets a chance to really show off his talent with this team.

I Kinda hope Tom has the go ahead to do his best in the Giro as that sounds like his and the teams goal but that was before LA's tour announcement. It may be hard for Tom to do the double as the team is so deep.

Tom D. cannot take floyd's spot becuse they ride for different teams. Floyd rides with Phonak...while Tom D. rides for Discovery. Tom D's primary target is the Giro d'Italia...while Floyd will be Phonak's captain at the Tour de France. Watch out for Floyd this year..as he is going to be a force in the overall GC at the tour. It seems that Tom Danielson's role at the Giro will be to help Popovych. Don't know if we will see Tom D. in this year's tour or not as Discovery has not released their tour roster as of yet. Should Tom have a good Giro..well then you never know what may happen. Also...if one of Discovery Channel's primary tour riders gets sick or injured leading up to the tour then you never know..maybe Tom will get a shot. Eventually Tom will get his chance to shine at the tour either this year or next. I think Lance is going to have a big say in who goes to the tour with Discovery. Don't forget...these riders are practically locks for a tour spot with Discovery....

Hincapie
Azevedo
Lance
Ekimov
Noval
Popyvich
Beltran

So this doesn't leave too many spots open..and Discovery is a very deep team...so deep that if I remember correctly they left Rubiera(or was it Victor Hugo Pena?) at home last year..and he would have made every other team's tour team. Also...Michael Barry might get a shot this year. Discovery is going to need some good flat TT riders to help out in the team TT...as it would be a disadvantage to take too many pure climbers to the tour. This is why Eki and Hincapie have been so valuable.

This is one of my favorite times of the day. It's about dusk. I can see the sun setting from my window that overlooks a great stretch of my town. I made a big pot of good soup which I can smell simmering as I write this. Also, I'm drinking a nice martini. All in all, life is good.

Oops. Almost forgot. I wonder what LANCE is doing?
