Bike for an old semi-novice . . .
Hi -- I'm an active, not retired, healthy (so far as I know), 70 year-old who wants to get into cycling as a sustainable daily exercise, possible short tours, and lifestyle addition. I have a mountain bike, but want a road bike to take advantage of the hilly streets in my neighborhood, and I'm willing to go a little pricey for a bike that challenges me but also don't want to reach way beyond my aspiration or ability level. I've been looking at a Cannondale CAAD12 Ultegra -- any thoughts or advice?
Many thanks for any response,

Mainly get a road bike that fit's YOU well and will suit your riding style! Looking at your choice, jmho, it won't make a good touring machine unless you have someone SAG all your gear! It's more of a fast club ride machine from the looks of it. Find a really good LBS and see what they recommend and RIDE several brands and styles of bikes, you will KNOW the one the speaks to you! Now all this is jmho and ymmv. Have fun checking out bikes!
