Front-mounted kid seat for vintage bike?

I've been considering getting one of those kid seats that mounts on the top bar, like weeride or ibert, but i can't seem to figure out if any of them work on the standard vintage road bike frame. Anyone have experience with this? The bike I will probably put it on is actually a mountain bike, schwinn cimarron from the 80s, but it is pretty much the road bike shape. I'm planning on putting north road handlebars on too. Thanks!

The iBert safe-T-seat attaches to the bike via the "Stinger":

The Stinger attaches to the stem and the seat attaches to the Stinger. It should work fine on your Schwinn.

Look at the Co-Rider. It's what we used and my bike has pretty much the same frame.
