Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

pure fix, state co., or aventon frames?

Recently I had my bike stolen and I've been depressed ever since. Since getting into fixed gears over the past few months I've learned a lot more about bikes overall, yet still not enough to understand all the components and what's best. Recently I've been looking into getting either a pure fix track Series, state bike co., or aventon Mataro frame. Any have any suggestions on witch frame would be best, or any other suggestions at all? I'm not trying to break the bank overall on the whole bike I plan to spend under 700$.

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

Why are you asking us? We're recumbent bike riders. You might get a better response from the single speed and fixed gear folks.

Seems to have stumbled into the wrong sub-forum.

Good luck with that fixed thing. Doesn't work too well with recumbents.

Although my friend Laura made a BikeE into a fixie. There's a picture floating around somewhere...

Wasn't the M5 CHR that was used in the Hour record, set up as a fixie? Or at least a single-speed... Of course, it was track-only in that configuration.

Yes, Aurelien Bonneteaui's record-setting bike was a single speed.

Nouvelle tentative de record de l’heure par Aurélien Bonneteau ...

A few weeks back, a strand of cable snapped in the rear D.R. control cable and froze the D.R. in the middle of the gear cluster.
I rode the bike home like that, treating it like a single speed.
It worked, but it was more work than Im used to.
Fixies are for kids... and for people who are not-me.
