Recumbent What IS that thing?! Recumbents may be odd looking, but they have many advantages over a "wedgie" bicycle. Discuss the in's and out's recumbent lifestyle in the recumbent forum.

One point they make is about back pain. In my case some minor back pain goes away when I ride my trike.

I switched to riding a recumbent (though not a trike) because of back pain. When I ride the recumbent the back pain totally goes away.

My wife's back pain was aggravated riding a trike, but I feel that was more due to a lack of suspension which is more readily available in the newer models.

I tend to have both back spasms and foot pain after a few hours on my trike (which do not occur on my upright bikes). Go figure! In any case, the part about fun is absolutely on the button.
