What's "kind of the point?" You don't seem to be a recumbent rider, so what expertise are you bringing to the discussion?

Bents are really rare here and I have people constantly staring at me. But my bikeE is not that low. Plus I increased the seat back height for more comfort and have a flag. So yes people do see me.
I am more worried people staring at me and not paying attention to the road.

As for that GT. Yes it might be low. But you probably hear it coming before you see it coming.

I'm not sure if I believe that, but it's an interesting theory.
I don't know that we're more visible. What I have noticed (anecdote, I know) is that cars tend to leave a little more room when they pass me on my bent than on my upright.

Another common myth/misconception. Loud pipes do not save lives. In today's modern vehicles, especially, with very good sound insulation, loud stereos, etc., most drivers won't hear a loud exhaust note until it's way too late to react.

Plus, as I related to a Harley owner, most of that sound is directed out the back of the vehicle, while the folks you want to warn are in the other direction.

I have had quite a lot of vehicles stop and wait for me to turn or pass by, when they clearly had the right of way. So at least at the moment, it seems to be occurring.
