Dog carrier?

I want to find a dog carrier for a EZ-3 recumbent bike. I want it to fit in front of me not behind.

This would be a small dog. (weighs___?) I can't think of recumbent carriers for anything that are ahead of the rider. I'd heard that fox terriers were sometimes carried in saddlebags on the hunt, so Zippy (rat terrier) at 8 weeks got a few rides in a musette bag on my chest. But he was destined to grow to the upper end of his broad breed standard (10-25 lb, 19"), so it quickly became impossible fit him in.

There was one Lightning rider who reported a bird passenger.... somewhere in front I think.

My dog is around 7-8lbs. Would prefer something in front so I can keep an eye on her.

I use to carry my great dane on ReBike rides. I trained her to sit in a basket that was zip tied and duct taped to my ReBike handlebars.

7-8 pounds...that's a new human child, which people carry preferentially in chest packs. So the chest/belly pack might be perfect. Like a musette bag(pro-road racer food hand-up container) with the strap knotted to shorten it so it is one loop that just fits over your head or of length so it positions just where you want it. If pup seems like he'd jump out when he sees a cat or something, maybe a collar clip on the upper edge of the bag. On my lowracer, there's no place I want to mount a bag, so I'm quite happy with a World War II US Army gas mask bag on my chest (It is about a foot wide, 9 inches vertical and 6 inches front-to-back...all other gas mask bags seem to be too long in the vertical direction. Zippy's musette bag was a little longer vertically, but constructed like an open topped envelope)
