They don't have hockey down there? You poor guy. As stated above, hockey tape is a thick, durable tape used on the blades and often the top of hockey sticks and is almost as strong as duct-tape (another reliable Canadian institution - a la Red Green). Any proper Canadian household usually has a few rolls of it around and it is an excellent instant fixer, particularly for light-weight items like flag-poles.
