A SKS Chainboard fixed that problem. With its unique design, its a fun bike to ride. And its a pity Giant discontinued it.

Norman, I've done a little research into the SKS Chainboard, they apparently come in at least a couple sizes, and may require some coustomization in order to fit some bikes. What was your experience, can I use the existing mounts from the old chain guard set up, or am I looking at having to have something fabricated? What ever help you can provide is appreciated.

Washers to raise nose angle

I swapped out the pedals to wider platform metal Azonics with the little gripper studs. Also mounted the Tioga Comp Pools rated at 65 psi and 1.75 width. Needed to undo the seat bolts and add washers under the front stud to raise the nose angle. These changes make a big improvement. The thing is delightful and altho I ride a regular bent now, I get on the Revive once a week to experience the supple ride and the freedom from recumbutt the posture neutral design allows. I can't believe it appears to be discontinued, the remaining ones may rise in value.
How many washers did you install to raise the nose of your seat? I just acquired a 2005-6 Giant Revive Spirit and the first thingI noticed was that the seat angle seemed to be tilted downward slightly which makes me feel like I'm sliding down off the seat . I'm glad I read your post because I hadn't thought about installing the washers. Thanks!

leverleg hasn't posted on BF in several years. (This is an old thread.) Maybe someone else will have an idea.

If I look on Marktplaats.nl (Dutch version of craigslist) there are 51 giant revives for sale right now in the Netherlands, in good condition they go for about 100-150 euro's. If I had a place to store it I might consider buying one. Seems like a fun bike but a little bit on the heavy side.

? Vind giant revive op Marktplaats.nl

That's a lot of used Revives in the Netherlands. Most have sold a lot more of them in Europe than in the States.

giant revive conversion

I prefer the front motor build the best for balance reasons, with a 48Volt 15Ahr Ping battery strapped into a metal wire office tray which is ziptied to the top of the Revive Rack. Shoppper panniers can attach to the wire tray, which both protects the battery (in a Plano 1412 plastic marine box), from falling over sideways accidents, and widens the pannier attachments to keep them off the wheel. Arkel panniers work well. They are an awesome ride around town and longer distances up to 30 miles with this battery, cruising around 21-22 mph. Always use torque arms with the bikes. The front fork is steel according to the magnet test, which is ideal for hub motors, with a standard 100 mm spacing. The rear 9C is a little bit "back heavy", but quite rideable, with both the motor and battery behind the rider. I think they make excellent ebikes. I wasn't that fond of them as a regular bike though, preferring my Rebike recumbent and my Sun EZ-Sport CX recumbent as regular bikes, although I've electrified those too!

Found a silver Giant Revive a few years ago. Kept having low or flat tires....so didn't ride it much. Decided to get tuneup this spring...and tires are fine...obut need air added weekly. At age 61, I have lost 2 inches in height in the last few years....but hip bone scan recently since I am a normal woman....so far. Like the flexibility of Revive for handlebars, and bike height. I live in a hilly area of my town....where I would love to ski down the hills in winter. I still lose momentum beyond 1 block and walk my bike up the rest of the hill. Would love to do an electric conversion...but bikeo shops seem to buy stock ebikes only. I'm leary to convert if bike shop won't install. What are best options?

There's an Electric Bikes subforum here on Bike Forums and on Bentrideronline there is a Power Assist forum. Power Assist - BentRider Online Forums
You might get more feedback on those forums.

Revive owners, can you recommend a rear bag that fits well?
