Used Ryan Vanguard

I’m looking at purchasing a used Ryan Vanguard LWB USS. The original owner doesn’t recall what year it is. He guessed ’94. Looking at the components, but not really sure which are original or not, I’m guessing ‘97ish.

The front derailleur is Shimano LX. The rear derailleur says “mountain LX”? Not sure if that is how Shimano marked it or if its an off brand. 7 speeds in the rear, the middle chain ring is Suntour “power stroke”… I’m assuming it’s elliptical.

The bike appears to be in impeccable shape. If you were in the market, what would you pay? What vintage would you guess?

I'm not in the market , so would want to steal it for $300 or $400. My guess is that it would bring double that on the open market.

The one I was looking at that spurred the post was listed at $950. I found another that I'm having someone pick up tonight for $400. (It will cost and addition $100 and four days to take possession of it.)

Doing more research, I’m finding a significant disparity in the listed weight for the machine. I’ve seen as little as 31# to as much as 42#.

Granted, it’s a little late now but does anyone out there know what I should expect for a weight?

I’m not trying to be a weight weenie, but 25% is significant.
