Anyone ever ride a S&B Malibu?
I seen one used for I thought was a extremely reasonable price. But it's not a brand I have heard of before? Any thoughts or knowledge about it?

S&B's been around a long time. Jack Baker (the B in the name. His partner Smitty, who co-designed the original Hypercycle with Milt Turner) retired some years ago) has been building recumbents since the '80s. I checked out a Malibu, but it was before I was used to riding a two-wheel recumbent and it was just around the parking lot at Jack's little shop in Gardena. They seem to be designed and built more for casual riding than touring or commuting, but they're decent. Jack's design isn't very adjustable for X-seam (fixed boom length and not a lot of seat movement), so on used, I'd ride before buying. If you go straight to Jack, he'll build to fit.

My 1st tadpole in 1998 was a S & B Venice Beach since it was under $1000. Rear brake only (fronts optional) made for a great trike learning how to skid! Great fun and a great learning trike.
