Hey Portland, I'm going to be in you in a few days. We are riding bikes around the country and are in Seattle right now. I'd love to meet a few people for drinks or whatever. The link in my signature is to our tour journal.

let us know when you are here. it'll be rad times, eh?
tehz, go down to ankeny between second and third. i may be there in a bit. remember when we met outside the ash street saloon that one day when you pussed out going up mount tabor (heh! i have to give you **** for that)? it's the opposite side of the block. besides, you won't miss it. there's **** going on.
there's also a morgan freeman movie being filmed down on 5th street off madison, but i doubt you'll see much going on since they'll be closing it off to the public. i was going to try and be an extra in it, i hear they were looking for kids to be messengers in the movie.

Anyone in Portland need a tire?
I have a Michelin Axial reinforced with Kevlar that was on my commuter but has been pulled due to a small cut in it. The cut isn't a danger structurally; I just don't want to take any chances considering where and when my commute happens.
BUT, for a person who wanted to toss a tire boot on there, or just wanted a cheap tire to skid on, it would still have a lot of life.
This tire can be had for free to anyone who wants it. It lives in NE near Legacy Emanuel. PM me or respond to this thread and I'll arrange a time for it to be outside when you are.
Oh, it's a 700c so don't any of you 26"ers get your hopes up.

Come on. Take this tire off my hands, please.
I don't want to throw it away, and don't want to have to deal with Craig's List.
It's safe, I promise. I'll mark the spot that I think is questionable and you can see for yourself.
Free tire - kevlar- skid fodder- or long life as a commuter.
NE.

Pick it up so that it isn't litter. Let me know when you have done so.
Enjoy the show, and have fun being up past your bedtime.

do I also want to play chicken with the streetcar tracks in NW? no, but I do it everyday anyway because I gotta get to work somehow.

as for NW, I work there so I have no choice. I wish they would hurry up with the construction on lovejoy though. my current route as a result of that street closure takes me over about four sets of tracks and I have one block of doing the sqeeze between the the tracks and the high curb platform.
it's going to get really awesome once it starts raining.
