I just rode with Ashley and Matt. I'll be out to fancy schmancy dinner tonight, so I think I've done all my riding for the day. Tuesday?

PS Dane, totally sweet race yesterday. Sorry you missed it. Subway rides to west Philly!

I can't decide if I really hated or really loved the subway ride.

So did Stewy really get his head opened up via baseball bat at the afterparty?

Bikes: To many junkers

So I'm looking for a place to stay for the April Fools race and I figured this was the right place to ask. So, do any of you guys know cheap hostels or have friends (that can be bought with booze) around the 13th-14th?

Any advice is appreciated.

so i still don't know the deets on this buut this is a repost:

Hey if you were at Meg and Stewy's last night and you saw anything happen outside, please email me your side of the story. what happened was really messed up, and i want to write an article about it for the PW. i am not going to let my friends get hit with bats and have nothing come of it. Forward this to anyone that you know that might also have been attacked or witnessed anything.

Thanks,
Lindsey

what the hell?!? I thought the party we left for was bloody and dramatic enough. How did a baseball bat even come into the picture?

didn't even bother with my carpet yet. I managed to get the majority of it out of my green shirt, but that black one I was wearing was half blood sooo no go on that.

if you go past my place check the stoop, between alison and I it looks like someone got shot.

ok. so turns out the south philly itialian neighbors assaulted the party goers. some teens were hitting people with bats who were getting knocked out by their fathers. this was after the cops had already said that the manner of the party was acceptable. when the cops showed up to the fight, none of the neighbors who assaulted the bikers were arrested, and they even tried to blame the bikers on starting the fight.

this pisses me off to no end. mainly because i know how strong the ties are between the friends and family of long standing south philly residents. and that these neighbors most likely got away with this because they know the guys on the force.

i have a rought draft of a piece being sent to the PW that has a lot more details, but i dont want it posted publicly since its likely to end up in print and i dont want to mess anythign up there. PM me if you want to read it.

edit: its not something i wrote. its just been passed along. otherwise i would be more likely to share it pulblicly.

Violence BOO. Baseball BOO. Cops... well, we all know cops have the ability to be really cool, really sh*tty and everything in between. Not being there, all I'm qualified to comment on is how disappointing it is to hear about bad stuff like a fight going down. And about how baseball is lame. I'm sorry to hear that a good day's race turned into a bad night's party.

Wow, that party **** is really messed up. More than writing a piece for the PW, someone should also file a complaint with IA. It does not appear as if the police conducted an investigation appropriate for the injuries sustained.

Battle of Broad Street! A Max concept that could turn out super-awesome.

Luke's Ice Race in concept phase right now. So far I imagine it going like this:
Racers are given a block or bag of ice. All blocks/bags will be the same size. Block is weighed at start and recorded. Racers can insulate the ice any way they want, but it must be carried/towed/pulled/whatever by the racer the entire time. Do a bunch of checkpoints as usual and at the finish the remaining block is weighed again (melt is drained off before weighing). The least amount of weight loss is awarded appropriate points. At the after party, the ice is crushed to make delicious and refreshing beverages. Mine will have lots of booze in them.
