HEEEEEY Tony Spectacular (aka chip thunder) just asked me to post that his partner backed out for the ROCKY V Race so he needs somebody to ride with. He's a famous racer so you'd better be up to the challenge. His internets is broke so just post here if you're interested and somebody will get back to him.

Again, kind of last minute notice.
Regardless, i'll be there.
Note: this is for tomorrow June 29th. I didn't bother editing the original message. And next week i won't bother with editing this one either.

Regardless of response, i'll have my bike and appropriate equipment with me at Franklin Square, at 1pm.
It'll be an approximately 45 min ride. I'm thinking of taking Spring Garden or Arch crosstown to the parkway, jumping (not literally) across the river onto MLK/West River, up to East Falls Bridge, and then taking the river path back. I don't ride with a comp, but i think this can be done in 45 mins if we average something around 14-18mph (a wide range, i know) along both sides of the river. Nonetheless, i'm open to recommendations, it just has to be no longer than 45-50 mins.
To recap:
Friday Jun 22.
1pm
Franklin Square, by the southwest corner.
~45 min ride

Critical Mass including cops and horsey
Latest Philly Critical Mass for y'all who weren't there. Includes some of the usual ranting from me in the description but that aint me cursing on the video, despite almost getting creamed. Nice bike lift at the end.

apologies for jumping in on this very-old thread but the subject line & number of people likely to be subscribed to it makes it a good place to ask this... anyone here know who organizes/supports/etc. ghost bikes and/or other memorials in philly? i got a message from ghostbikes.org's new york guy (i had asked him about philly ghost bikes in the past) asking if i knew; apparently someone at the Inquirer really wants to do a story on this. please get at me on this thread or via pm or email (k at krisgale dot com) if you know anything. thanks!!!

i did inquire with a guy at the neighborhood bike works (which organizers bike church, among other things) and no such luck... and even the folks who manage the ride of silence here in philly have seen various ghost bikes, they're also at a loss when it comes to identifying who's putting together the memorials that have been spotted... intriguing!
