Thanks Vas, good not to be dead.
Emerald to The Hub and then back? Not familiar with The Emerald but if you leave The Hub with any ability to propel your vehicle (flatulance not withstanding) back across the bridge, you've done a serious drinking disservice to such a fine establishment ...

I'll be on the East Coast surfing/camping this coming weekend. Next week is all about race preparation. I plan on being downtown a few times next week to make sure things are set for the race.
Locals need to plan on pre-race festivities for the ATL and Philly people that are here Friday night 4/20.
As for a FG Shop...whatever, I started the rumor. Sorry, I just needed a front for a massage business I want to run in the back (so many things wrong with this statement).
As for our legally laced friends...come do some yardwork at my house and you can make some money for the lawyer. Luke, no need to apply. Fool me once mister hat.

I might try to cook something up for Friday night.
By cook something up I mean get my friend in St. Pete to have a party.

I was planning on making an appearance Friday. (Please, easy on the cheering) But if everyone is going to be out...
Anyway, the FG shop..... I don't know. I heard it from a guy I ride with sometimes from another shop in town. MLK and Central is the rumor.

I really don't see the purpose/need for a new shop specializing in fixed gear cycles. I can count the number of FG riders in the bay area on my hands and toes. We all frequent the same shops and have the wherewithal to exploit low internet prices on just about any part we need. A fixed gear/track shop would flounder in a matter of weeks.
Apart from a unicycle, a FG bike is probably the most simplistic form of bicycle out there. Any mechanic who can maintain/repair a multi-speed bike can build a fixie, therefore any mechanic in a reputable shop should have all the knowledge he needs to work on any of our bikes.

That's what I asked my friend. "How in the world could they stay in business?" But hey, wild Internet rumors have to start somewhere.

A fixed gear shop would go under I think. Unless they plan on funding a Velodrome building plan, it won't work. It would be sweet yes, but not practical for ze monies.
I can't come out on Friday. I'm going to man up, and work out all the loose ends with this girly girl. Plus I get to see Head Automatica for free. No complaints here.
Robb... would you be willing to teach me how to use my brand spanking new AE-1 sometime? Haha .

Also, here's the rundown on the FG shop. I asked my super-secret underground source during this morning's group ride and got the name: 66Fixed.
Google search reveals:
www.66fixed.com
And a quick domain registration check reveals it is owned by:
Davis, Michael
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
St Petersburg, FL 33701
I think this is really happening. Anyone know this guy?
