anything going on for new years, I know it's a ways off, but i think it would be pretty rad to have a little bike type fun that night. maybe some foot down, drag races, an alleycat, longest/shortest skid comp, after party/show? thoughts?

^^^ that would be fun for New Years, BUT you will have to ride you bike to Hampden first and watch the ball drop on 34th street. It is where those fools hook up all of the lights for the season. Well on New Years they do their own ball drop, mini street party. It is way too funny to miss. They have this overweight Hampdennite come out dressed in a diaper as "baby New Year".

Just got email from Velocipede and two workshops coming up for those interested.
Firstly there will be a workshop this Monday night, Feb 12th, from 7-9 on repacking bottom brackets. Too often bottom brackets are shrouded in mystery. Come explode the myth, and pedal smoothly!!! Becky P will be teaching this class.
THEN, the very next day(drum roll please)…
~Tuesday, February 13th come check out our SINGLE SPEED WORKSHOP!!!! We’ll talk about choosing a frame, fixed gear vs. single speed, getting chain line right, and other issues that come up in putting together or working on a single speed. Come with your questions. The indubitable Neale S, an experienced bike mechanic and single speed hero, will come with your answers.
