It was b/c I'd asked him ... as my lovely was doing some decidedly unsafe standing on things while in her "nesting" stage. He said in his experience the womb was the best designed safety cage ever. Not meant to scare but he said he'd seen women involved in severe accidents, grievously injured and baby was fine.

Kergin, I am running 9-speed on this and so far, the front derailleur is fine but, as you said, the chain is a little narrow for it. If it turns out that I have to get a proper 9-speed FD, I will let you know. Nope, they are Mavic CXP14s, I think they are the precursor to CXP33s. Aesthetically, I think i like the look of the Open Pros on my other Ciocc a bit more but both are solid solid wheels. I am not super tall, just a hair over 6 feet----it is a 57cm size frame and it fits very well.

I don't remember, to be honest. I bought it bare in about '02. In '04 I had it converted to disc only by Hugh at True North.

Looks really fun & light, although without eyelets or rack mounting holes, I guess its meant for XC racing... What wheels are those?

Mine weighs in at just <20lbs. It is indeed a lot of fun and good for nothing but XC. The wheels are Chris King hubs and Mavic 717 Disc rims. I need to get them rebuilt, as they were originally laced a few years ago by an apprentice at the shop that did them. Notice the valves are in the wrong place relative to the spoke pattern.

LOL, my rigid singlespeed weighs ~6-7 pounds more than your bikes. Man am I ever looking forward to new bike day later on this summer. Sweet bikes though, guys. Ti is such a gorgeous material to build a bike with and it's nice to see you've ridden these bikes for years.

Probably been asked numerous times but I'm lazy and the search isn't working out well for me....
How to unseize a seatpost .. ? I've put on an SS wheel on my old road bike and would like to lower the seat so that my girlfriend can try (re-learn) riding it. I never put grease in there (I win at this kind of thing :() and it ran during winter without fenders, so I'm OK with accepting it's in there to stay if necessary but if there are any homebrew ideas, I'm all ears... edit: Just read this again: shapelike Don't smoke, Mike. How's that working out for you... damn near a year, no? |
heat can work to deal with the seat post. Also you can get things like liquid wrench which i've had some success with. Also, coca-cola has worked for some people.

The Safe Cycling – Sharing The Responsibility Campaign will commence on Monday, June 22, 2009. The campaign will conclude on Sunday, June 28, 2009. The traffic strategy is a one-week initiative, designed to promote awareness and education by reducing the potential for cycling related injuries. sadly, i have to report that i was caught in the blitz this morning. i decided to be a good little citizen and not ignore an order to pull over and now will be making a court date to fight a $180 fine for "proceeding through a red light". apparently a standing stop to clip into pedals before entering the intersection as the light changes counts as running a light when you have a quota to fill. what a great way to promote cycling! :bang: |
