It is nice to be able to go fast again in the last couple of days but the cars must feel the same way as I had a lot of close calls today. One guy must have been going at least 80 on Richmond. I pulled over because I could hear the roar of his motor a block away...******.

Yeah. The admin hasn't posted there in at least 6 months, I'm not sure it's coming back

For any scotch drinkers, Aberlour's A' Bunadh is back in vintages. A nice cask strength Speyside single malt finished in sherry casks. Nice butter and caramel on the nose and palate. Very yummy.

The reason I was so excited about this trainer is that it works with my bolt on axles, no quick release here. As soon as I get home I'll try tightening it down even more, thanks.

it may work with your bolt-ons but it was designed to work with the quick release skewer supplied with it, so some knocking back and forth is inevitable, it'll be hard to get a connection that matches the quick release

it won't really matter how tight you get it vertically because the ends aren't the exact same size as the bolts anyways, so there will be horizontal play

you should be able to get it to the point where it's safe to use though, i used to use my cyclops trainer with my track bike and it wasn't as secure as my road bike but it was good enough

Wow. I need to not let my bikes get so disgusting that cleaning becomes a physically demanding job. 2+ hours later, my Major Jake and Marinoni are in presentable condition again. Phew.

If any of you guys were on the old tofixd board (or even if not) I've set up a new temporary/permanent home here:

Non-drive shot, sorry. The long wheel-base takes some getting used to but I like having fender tabs; it is a solid ride so far. I swapped over all the parts from my Colnago Sport single-speed and now I think I will turn that bike into a CX bike.

I scored a used but perfectly fine Ultegra 9-speed group (minus wheels and brakes) for $75 today. I think everything will find its way onto my Battaglin since I already have some nice-ish Ultegra hubs laced to Mavix CXP30s just sitting in teh closet.

Yup, especially now that the weather has gotten icky. My road bike (built on that tiny Gardin frame I picked up from you all those years ago) probably got more miles this summer though.

Has everyone just abandoned ship here to join TOfixed? The thread does not grow as fast as I remember it used to.

TOfixd is most likely defunct, hence the new forum. We do more rides on tofixd/yyzfixed but this thread is plenty busy. I think it's just a winter thing, both camps have slowed down an awful lot since november.

FWIW, there's a lot of us on both boards, no reason to be an either/or thing

Did everyone know about Charlie's Freewheel program? I was listening to theCBC this morning and was surprised it was dedicated to Charlie from the bike forums.
