I just wanted to pop in and say I saw somnambulant going up Augusta but he didn't say hi to me. What a jerk! :P
Also Go transit sucks. Police investigation my ass, cancelled train SDLjfsldkfjSLDFJL:KSjf. |
OK... RAM- check! I now have 1Gb DDR (1 apparently 'cause it's 184 pin)
NOw, I also got a FireGL video card... but my old one didn't need a power supply. How do I get power to the card? |
You may have a power connector free, the same kind that goes to a hard drive. If not, apparently there's a Y connector that you can use supplied with the card: http://support.ati.com/ics/support/K...estionID=20432
These appear to be generic instructions - I couldn't find anything specific for the FireGL card |
Didn't get one with the card...it was used, and I couldn't find a free power plug anywhere (I'll look again though). But for 20 bucks I'm not complaining.
Can I just get a connector from active surplus and splice into the power somewhere or am I just asking for trouble? |
You should be able to buy one without splicing it yourself, Active surplus probably has them. How many drives do you have in there? I've got 2 drives, a DVD, CD and floppy drive powered in my box...

I went out shopping yesterday up in Woodbridge with some friends and we were in Canadian Tire. So I decided to test ride a few bikes, and while doing that I noticed something weird. Canadian Tire has extra-long (71-91mm) non-recessed sidepull brakes for like $11. I've been looking for them on my single speed I'm building. I bought some on ebay, but I picked these up too.
They also have shorter ones. I'm sure they aren't amazing brakes, but they'll do the job. |
