mmm. Flank marinated in garlic/shallots/rosemary/pepper/oil overnight and then bbq'd is my fave though. I also like the price.

How fast can the cop horses go on asphalt? Do they have special shoes?

Not quick enough to catch you if you try to out-run them on your bike.

You have a talent for unearthing the hidden meaning in questions

I inadvertently blew a red in front of a mounted cop yesterday... and he didn't give chase, but I wasn't sure if it was 'cause he was lazy, he didn't care, or he knew he'd never catch me.

i'm pretty sure a horse at full gallop is much faster than a bike but perhaps not in traffic. i'd say the cop had better things to do.

on another note, i love how the police horses ***** all over the road but i get a fine for not picking up after my dog!

I'm pretty sure too, but I'm thinking taking a horse to a gallop with steel shoes on asphalt is a sure fire recipe for disaster.

Maybe not faster in a straight line, but it ain't going to do a 90 left without overshooting about 3 nautical miles.

For the catering I did on Sunday I marinated 14 flank steaks in a moroccan spice mix of 16 different spices for 24 hours. Quite simply the best flank steak I've ever had.

As for grilling steaks, sea salt or kosher salt, fresh ground pepper or butchers pepper, oil and grill at really high heat. If you want medium rare and above, turn the grill low and let it cook after searing. Steak cooks best low heat, chicken is high heat. Best steaks I cooked at work I'd sear and let sit on a shelf above the grill for 5-6 minutes. Absolutly sexy when done. Nice breakfast Rob.

Maybe some minced shallots or a spice rub, but otherwise only I'm with you. Only poor suts needed to be marinated. And never, ever under any circumstances should b-b-q be used as a marinade. I saw a cook doing this once to a delmonico. I cried.

The cop horses do have rubber coated shoes but they still dont do well on pavement at full gallop...the exception being this guy.

The risk to a horse on pavement is waaay too great for such a silly thing as a red light biker. Now thundering down the back side of Mount Royal in MTL to chase illegal MTBr's (when they closed it to riders) is something entirely different.... damn they were fast....scary and the cops loved the chase... I think the horse did too.

Speaking of which, when are we going to have the pleasure of seeing you on the trails? Are you going revert the mtb to trail duty once the Paké takes over street duty?

seriously. why can't toronto get *****bags like they have in montreal??

one time i was stopped at a red light beside a huge pile and two conservative-looking middle-aged ladies were talking to each other about how unpleasant it was and why nothing was done about it, and were all like "it must not be very nice for cyclist"... so i was all like "yeah, exactly!" i felt rather vindicated. like, for sure.
