anyways, keep us posted on your Pina frameset!

I posted some links to a few pictures http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...9&page=2&pp=25

sweet,
I remember I did a cable change a month ago on a pina exactly like that blue one.
was real fun finding those old school metal housing end caps cause the boss holes were so small.
also, the cables were thankfully easy to feed through the frame.
anyways, your red and white looks quite awesome.

just wondering, are you going to keep that saddle on?
also, those aren't campy cranks are they!?

Holy crap - y'know that Puma-sponsored Fixed-Gear booklet that came out with vice this summer? Guess what just cropped up on Ebay...

I can't believe this dude actually has bidders. 'Specially given that you can just download the damned thing from here http://www.superdrome.com/docs/pumabook101.pdf

Those have been making the rounds on eBay for a while now. I even recall some guy selling 'counterfeit' versions of them a while back. Hard to believe someone would pay for those things considering they were originally available for free.

I guess it's kind of like the Vice magazine phenomenon. I hear the early newsprint copies can fetch top dollar online these days. Save your back issues boys, they could help put your kids through college!

Yep, that'd be skyelo.
Anyone know how much a pair of tektro dual pivot road brakes cost/where to get them?
I need a short front/long rear. Or both long.

TRaffic Jammer 03-20-06 06:45 AM

Hey is that half can of Citristrip still up for grabbies? Man the Cramerotti cleans up nice. I'm thinkin' about going full polish and clear coat on it. I've decided not to heat off the FD hanger... in case someones eventually wants to roadie the frame.

operator 03-20-06 08:52 AM

Well they can always just use a clamp on FD.

Cycle Solutions (east end ) :)

somnambulant 03-20-06 09:28 AM

I used part of that puma booklet (photocopied and hand re-inked to make it stand out a little better) for my spoke card secret santa submission:

i bought a set of long reach at urbane. from what i remember they were $35/each or $60 for the pair. it's a deal if you ask me. the new models have a nice strong return spring and come with cartridge brake pads and perform as well as any 105 or equivalent.

somnambulant 03-20-06 11:07 AM

I've got a tektro front brake on my urbanite as well -- probably the same model as you, Jeremy. :) No complaints here. It's a brake. :)

Now, back to matters at hand.. hunting homeless people.

I got my pair from this guy:

I'm happy with them, but I don't think they work any better than nice oldschool single pivots if you can find them.

sweet flick. you can't go wrong with rutger hauer AND ice-t. damn. WHICH brings me to my lone brush with fame: YEARS ago, i was walking down a rainy yonge street after serving a saturday morning detention (hence why i was walking down yonge street on a rainy saturday morning), and who did i spy walking by the uptown(RIP), but ICE-mutha***ing-T, his wife, and a member of his entourage!!! i stupidly asked him if he was ice-t. his majesty was decked out in a blue jays cap and matching jacket from roots..talk about being on the incognito-tip... the OG was explaining the marquee from surviving the game to his wife!! i asked for an autograph..harhar..but i didn't have a pen and neither did he, so he asks me for my hand and shakes it. he told me he'd just wrapped filming johnny mnemonic in hamilton. pure class i tells ya. hiphop needs some more of the oldskool pimpin'.
is there a store in kensington called death or glory? or is it death and glory.. moonbeam/moonbean.. what the hell.

eyefloater 03-20-06 11:59 AM

... I need to go on an Ice-T ramble later on. I've got a few stories too.

Home Invasion ftw.

somnambulant 03-20-06 01:17 PM

Not nearly as oldschool, but I'm currently very much enjoying "Dr. Octagon - Dr. Octagonecologyst". This album never ceases to amaze me with it's rediculousness. :)

sr20det is now in possession. It's not too pricey though, I picked it up at Home Hardware for 20 bucks.

Any of you guys going to Critical Mass next Friday?

TRaffic Jammer 03-20-06 01:37 PM

hmmm I just might, I do get off at 5 next week. Critical huh? Time and place? Cool I'll go git some of my own citristrip. Home depot should have some too...close to home. WORD to the OG!!!! Down with hiphop since 81!!!!

32flavours 03-20-06 01:42 PM

Bloor and Spadina at 6 pm. Also look forward to the next Critical Vacuum. As I am slowly pulling myself away from the black grip of death.

somnambulant 03-20-06 01:42 PM

I'll probably do CM on Friday.

TRaffic Jammer 03-20-06 01:48 PM

What's the bust factor like here in toronto CM wise?
oh I DO have a bell I can mount. :p
