cool - i haven't bought beans there in a while. i usually go to i deal for that beacuse i like the taste better, but it doesn't have as many idealistic hippies hanging around as alternative grounds. still plenty of idealists at i deal just less hippies and more anarchists.

Andrew rules for showing up to cheer us on. I'm not sure how Keith placed in the M3 race, but Wes got 7th in S3/4 and I ended up with 8th. And now ... mountain of food.

indeed, the nerd quotient at active surplus was considerable. (see what i did there? lol)
i just got back from the farmer's market: the beet and leek bunches i got were so huge it looked like i had a tree in my backpack! it was hard to see where i was going because the back of my helmet didn't have any room for me to tilt my head up! mmm harvest vegetables...

phew.. yeah, definitely a good race this morning and the other classes had some pretty exciting fights as well. Big props to Andrew for coming along and cheering.. It helps! I was sure I did better than 7th, and I heard of some timing/etc 'eff ups.. but, I'll just trust their results I guess. Still had a blast!

Wes actually lapped the entire field 3 times. Then he ran over some dude's face. It was totally boss.
Edit: Sure you didn't just pass a lot of M3 guys? I held off the guy behind me the whole race and the other dude dnf'd, but I passed 4 of the masters guys who started ahead of us.

As to the timing crap....at the end of Teddys race they tried to tell him and Paul that some other guy was ahead of them and they finished 2-3. Seeing as they destroyed the whole M1 field, and passed all but the top 2 guys in Senior Elite, I am not sure how they got that result. The guy who they had placed 1st went up to the timer and sheepishly told him that he was more like 15th than first. Props to him. Timing probs are unusual with that timing crew...they do all the big mtn bike races and very rarely get anything wrong.
p.s. sorry I din't give you a "Grrrrr face" Andrew....I was more Blech than Grrr

I wanted to buy rollers... didn't see any until I saw a guy walk by me outside aferwards with box in hand.
I did, however sneak in an hour early when my friend ran into someone he knew so I was standing at the booth selling the $229 Catlikes for $69 when the doors opened.
No problem Canice - thank Keith who'll tell you to thank Andy.

I have a push one and quite like it. I never liked having a heavy ass lock on my back, particularly when my bag is mostly empty...

Hey guys sorry i totally dropped the ball on the race this morning. Apparently I thought it somehow possible for me to sleep late AND go the race. Turns out I overestimated my ability to transcend the barriers of space and time.

I picked up a flyer this morning at Manic for Toby's halloween race.
Track or Treat
Friday, October 26th
Trinity Bellwoods Rink
$5
Reg: 8pm, Race: 9pm
Costumes Mandatory
ps. the results for the race are on www.cyclocrossontario.com, and now it says I got 6th and Mike got 7th. Mooovin' on up! I'm interested whether the "official" results on the OCA website will be any different.. and I also can't remember if they post individual lap times. The paper version at the race said I did a 7:55 lap on 4 of my 6 laps which I thought was a little odd. Am I really that consistent?

It's on the North side of College, a few doors East of Bathurst. My only gripe is that it's a little pricier than my other usual coffee depots.
Call me The Breeze
Thanks. I was just gonna delete 'cause I haz a google.
I don't usually buy coffee already brewed since I just like plain 'ol coffee instead of the fancy ones which require machinery, and that's well within my realm at home, but all the talk has me curious!

It is a neat looking machine though! So I guess I can choose any bean instead of the 2-3 "feature" cups with this thing?
