ahahahaha you guys crack me up :D
what a busy morning! first chance i've had to sit down! thankfully the shorts i wore are comfortable, and they didn't take as long as i thought to dry out. commando in jeans may be liberating for some of you; it just don't feel right to me. i thought about going to a dollar store, but we were short-staffed and i had french toast to make... will be sure to bring some tomorrow to keep in my office. i "seem" like a super commuter?? i am a super commuter!! actually, i've been eyeing the MEC splash pants for a couple years, but for some reason i haven't coughed up the money to buy them. i have regular rain pants that are ok with dork straps if it's cold ('cuz they're not breathable) or windblocker tights, but if it's warm i usually just get wet for the couple kilometers i have to go. i have to say though that i really like the booties that i got at the bike show. what a steal for $15. a cyclist was in front of me today with the same pair so i chatted with him for a moment before riding on. (plus, i enjoy saying booties.) |
hehehe.. great bsnyc post:

Let's just take a moment to remember that fixed gear bikes can easily take a finger off. Careful when you're working on your bike there, kids.

cavernmech: d'oh.. Mark DNF'ed again on Sunday? Tell me it wasn't his chain again! :P

Also, "Oh, no no no more mosquitos" ... ahh, how I love Four Tet.
PS. Ahahahaha, "Bike Lane Salmon" ... so true. |

Really bummed about not being more prepared clothing-wise for the rain - my track pants, shoes and socks are still wet after spending the day on my monitors. That's what you get for not staying at home. At least I had my goretex. Work, bleh. |
The best thing i've found for drying shoes is to fill them with newspaper. Usually I leave the newspaper in for a few hours and then change it out for new stuff.

I can't remember his name at the moment (Paul?) but dude who works for Nadir took the end of a finger off and crushed a few more I've been informed. They sewed it back ... hope it takes.

Sliced off fingers suck. I grew up with a bunch of uncles who were baggage handlers for Air Canada and not a single one of them had full sets of fingers on any hand. Lots of missing tips and such...

Ooof on the fingers.. :|
Thanks for the tip re: newspaper, I'd heard that somewhere just recently but forgot it. The insoles dried quickly, I just had to wait longer for the uppers. Stupid cotton track pants though :p I just want to get out there and ride, this sitting at a desk business is getting old. Blah. |
Does anyone know of a good place to get inexpensive, but good quality picture frames? I want to make a few of the really good photos from my cross-country journey into some wall art, but I'm not sure where to start gettign the frames.
I like the Umbra look, lots of mat around the photo. |

There is/was? a place on Queen 2 blocks West of Bathurst....don't know if they are still there but they had pretty reasonable prices.
You may also want to try Loomis and Woolfitz (sp?) |
