Probably just needs to be cleaned up as you suggest-but I don't have a flex hone. Actually, it's the Gitane (?) track frame I picked up a couple of weeks back at your shop. I built it up and was riding it on the weekend-it's a really nice handling BTW-fits me well too. Right now, it's got a really short 26.0 post that doesn't fit deep enough into the frame for long term milage, it will be too hard on the frame. I have a longer post, but it gets jammed about 1.5" inches down into the ST.

Anyone know if any shops are carrying any miche seatposts? I found a miche bottom bracket and headset but I'm having trouble finding a seatpost in town.

Also where is the best place to buy a brooks, I remeber there being a local ebay seller that had fairly good prices but I don't feel like digging through all 128 pages to find it, anyone have the link handy?

I'm thinking of replacing my urbanite frame becuase for whatever reason i just can't get comfortable on it. maybe the top tube is too long, who knows. anyone got a hot tip on an 80s / early 90s road (possibly italian) frame (horizontal drops of course) in a large size? i'm thinking 62ctc / 64ctc seatube and TT anywhere from 56-60? cavernmech - any stock in this size you're itching to move?

So I picked up a vittoria rubino today. It honestly was harder to put on than my continentals. It's IMPOSSIBLE.

Pinched the tube getting the tire on, now I can hardly get it off (still can't).

speaking about *****es.. i have the hardest dang time getting tires on to my rear wheel (drc) while getting one on the front (cxp33) is like eeeeeazy-e. hmm, time for some early 90s gangster rap...
rob, how much were the rubinos and where'd ya get em? are they red? personally, i think a red tire sans red rim looks way classier on your ride.

Yeah I got mine at urbane for $35 w/tax. each. And I got red tires.. :D
My wheels are horribly mismatched right now.
Front: black rim, campy hub, brown sidewall/black tread.
Rear: silver rim, ****mano hub, red rubinos.

I find the way the GTA is laid out that it doesn't offer much in terms of nice twisty cycling routes. just straight lines north/south and east/west. what's the word I'm looking for 'monotomous'....?

yea it is true. GTA is kinda flat and boring.
cept for when you are biking up to downtown. its like uphill the entire way.
you can always bike in the shoulder lane of the DVP, that'd be twisty... sorta.

The DVP ride, I did it last year, volunteered with the TBN and got to ride the course. It's a nice ride, nothing beats blasting down a 4 lane highway with TONS of room and not have to worry about cars at all.

Ad hoc pacelines etc.

I've gone on the DVP ride for the last two years and it's great having the whole highway to yourself
and there's some nice long hills too.

i second that. i bought a pair a few years ago and i think i broke a sweat mounting them. (insert joke here). plus they wore out really fast on the sidewalls. now i buy the cheap MEC contis.

I've been doing it since 94; my advice is to start as early as possible becuase if you wait too long you're stuck in a jam of little kids and weekend warriors on rusty hybrids who aren't used to riding in a pack. if you thought riding in traffic was dangerous...
if you get to the start by 6:30 or so this isn't a big deal. just try to hang with the doughnut-riding roadies.
