Finding it difficult to talk in the racially tense atmosphere of Los Angeles, Thompson and Acosta decided to travel to Las Vegas, Nevada, and take advantage of an assignment by Sports Illustrated to write a 250-word photograph caption on the Mint 400 motorcycle race held there.
What was to be a short caption quickly grew into something else entirely. Thompson first submitted to Sports Illustrated a manuscript of 2,500 words, which was, as he later wrote, "aggressively rejected." Rolling Stone publisher Jann Wenner was said to have liked "the first 20 or so jangled pages enough to take it seriously on its own terms and tentatively scheduled it for publication — which gave me the push I needed to keep working on it," Thompson later wrote.[16]
The result of the trip to Las Vegas became the 1972 book Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas which first appeared in the November 1971 issues of Rolling Stone as a two-part series.

So, what did the guy on the bike do? Stuck spinning his wheels in the middle of an intersection? Slid through a red light? Didn't clear the foot of snow off his roof?

All he mentioned was "saw a cyclist going down an unploughed street" which was enough to be branded a 'tard apparently. It's a daily recurrence, and might be multiple times during the show that he does this bit. He's mentioned cyclists a few times when this weather has been crud as being tards, today just stuck out in my mind.

Great poster! The Joker looks like an awesome foil in this one, manically insane.

Yes, he looks like how I imagined the Joker would have looked in The Killing Joke, if anyone knows the comic book graphic novel written by Alan Moore.

I went on a search for Pearl Izumi booties with duppy a week ago and couldn't find any. Where can I get 'em and what model are they? I'm looking for the amfib mtb ones.

Call Dukes. I was there tonight and, I think I spied, with my little eye, some that were over-priced.

I've decided that booties are nice on a rainy day in the non-winter season, but when it comes down to it you know what's better? BOOTS! Not no sissy booties.

Batman begins was sort of based off of frank millers "batman year #1" comic series. And yeah what I_brad said - they are water-resistant not proof. They are warm though. Good down to about -5. Then you need some crazy $300 insole heaters for your sidis.
