Cool, good information as usual guys, thanks. I think I will build this hub up with an OpenPro rim and that should work nicely for our mean streets. I just need to track down a nice CX frame, something steel and unique. I saw a nice Ciocc was posted in the CX photo thread....so nice.
Clowntown, I walked by the pawn shop at Queen and Dufferin and he had no stolen Fuji track bikes. Keep looking....

FYI Just heard on the radio King is closed between Spadina and Bathurst from downed hydro wires for anyone commuting in (assuming they're late like me )
Looks wet out, glad it's not cold though.
My buddy and I were wondering if TO / BFTO / BFSSFGTO / anyone / Bueller are going to organise a memorial ride (maybe in conjunction with the rest of the world?) for Sheldon... I know both of us personally feel he's helped us a LOT despite never even directly communicating with the man - it'd be nice to show that, and get some coverage/photos for his family to remember? *shrug* He's worth the thought.

You might be able to find something at the Spring bike show in a month too.
The Kona stuff is pretty well spec'ed for the price if you're looking for something new and complete. Otherwise there are a decent number of fairly affordable framesets out there by companies like Planet-X/On-One, and Redline.

I think the Volpe is something that would work for me as it has eyelets for fenders but I am not crazy about that gangreen colour (I think that is what Bianchi calls it) and something more unique would be cool. Thanks for the idea though, they seem to go for a pretty good price on eBay...

jet: btw, this is what I'm riding: https://www.zedsport.com/pages/road/uncle_john.htm. You mentioned eyelets, which it has, so I thought it was worth mentioning.

Bike thievery , for the most part, is like doin' B&E's in parkdale, just bad form. Nothing says give it back like 15 folks on the sidewalk with U-locks. Heck I'd even defend JIT5's right to go get a stolen ride back.
Shiftless bum
Except that's probably JIT trolling anyway, like he (may have done) did when Toby's bike got ripped. It's too perfect a post. Just enough to make sure it sounds like the photo and the gratuitious leaving town comment. Still worth following up though.

Is JIT really that evil? That would be a new high in lows. That Cam, so level headed.

Welp, I think it is a joke (har har) post as I emailed the guy with my contact info 25 minutes after it was posted and I haven't heard anything from him all day. And like cavit8 said, it is just too perfect. The forum is public, it could have been anyone who posted it. Bummer.

Re: Sheldon - anyone thinking a memorial ride outside of the CM crowd would be fitting? I like the spokecard idea being floated in the main forum.

Spoke cards would kick ass, and I think the CM crowd is appropriate, given that most people there are avid enough to have benefited from Brown's advice.
Call me The Breeze
Here's a longshot: Anyone in town have nipple washers? (yes, I know, I'm a nipple washer)
I'm talking nipple to wheel washers, not spoke to hub.

in know this is a slightly inappropriate thought but: what's going to happen to sheldon's bikes? my first inclination would be to put them in some sort of folk-museum. there is some real beauty in the function of his devices.
