The Ed has arrived at the homestead.
He and five other people from the MEC team got extremely lost during the second half. Also his front brake went all funny and he had to ride a large part of the race with it unhooked. They took about 5 hours to do the race, beating, in his humble words, "a bunch of fat people and mountain bikers" (lolz). He says he had lots of fun though. Go trial by fire! |
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Edit: too many things about the MECies that got lost... i must laugh at them on my next shift |
K-Town MTB ride today oh ya.

I'd recognize those pecs of steel anywhere. (notice I didn't say boobs).

question: Best place to get a silver Chris King headset (prefer in Toronto, but online if its lots cheeper) 1 1/8?
and Omnium cranks and bottom bracket? im gonna go asking around later this week, see if i can find a slightly less expensive store to order at. and im guessing no answers for the second one (i tried google, but couldn't find anywhere that is located in canada) Thanks in advance |
Nice going on the P-A guys, was a beautiful day - I made sure to daub on the sunscreen since picking up a bunch of sun Saturday.
Due to not crossing the street in good order and hesitating my initial decision to take the sidewalk (literally at race start) led me to running in 19/20 in GG for all but the last two checks, and I went straight south at College instead of stopping and waiting for the light to head east - so I lost it to final place :p So, just like my first sprints experience, I just kinda held pace but didn't push - was a lot of fun though, and meh... DFL for my first is OK I guess - was still fun, but would've been nice to have stuck with the pack a bit - darn traffic :p Went to the Boat a while after but that place was pretty dead sadly, stayed for a beer then left. Good day out though, and as I was drinking a few pre-race beers I got my brake fitted... darn cantis but it's on now :p |
Dunno who's the cheapest, but here's a short list for availability:
- Cycle Solutions (Parliament/Carleton and Kingston/Main) - Sweet Pete's (Bloor/Dovercourt-ish) - Cycle Motive (Queen/Bathurst) - Urbane (Queen/John) As for those cranks, one of the major Canadian suppliers carries them. Any shop that deals with Norco Sales can check stock availability and order them in for you. |
back from across the pond! what'd i miss? what'd i miss?

note, if you decide to go on a 45 minute bike ride to north york, take an innertube and a pump. eglinton/don mills is a blight when your tire is flat. |

Flimflam, I saw you at Urbane on Saturday but I didn't say hi because I thought it would be weird and internet-stalkerish. And now I realize that this post is relatively weird and internet-stalkerish.
Eh, whatcha gonna do? |

Eh, whatcha gonna do? Thanks for the help looking that up for me too, Rob - never got chance to say before you scurried off again :p Had a good ride over town today, decided to take College across all the way to Carlton/Parliament then take Bloor to the Danforth GO - College is nice, I like avoiding the warzone of Bloor/Bedford->Bloor/Yonge and I see a lot more cyclists on College, which is always cool. Plus, it served me extra reason for a nice big breakfast from the greasy spoon down the street :D |
wes - i just got up a while ago so i probably missed you for a morning ride. i might still go out later though if the lady allows...
