pfft.. nice.

"Playfair, Thomas , 60K Individual"

Also, the confirmed pre-registrations list right now is 7 pages long.. 200 people per page. It blows my mind to think that the regular 'cross series (Cross Crusade) in Oregon is this big at nearly every race.

Guess it depends if you're going for novelty, or good cookin' tools.

These are my faves:

A co-worker got the P/T pizza cutter today much bigger then you think. I’m getting one!

Sort of. The wheelset had a shimano freehub, so I've got an ultegra cassette with a campy rear derailleur and a J-Tek shiftmate to make them play nice together. Everything else is campy. Record for everything except the cranks and rear derailleur.

No, BUT ... for future reference the DSR group ride will be on Tuesdays at the Pottery Road trailhead (~6:15pm) and the Loblaws entrance to the trail (~6:30pm). There's a different group ride on Thursdays that also starts at the Loblaws entrance (6:30pm) but I'm not sure who organizes that. Both should be pretty laid back atmospheres.

Can I ask where you got this information? I'd like to pass on the info, with a source - thanks!

sure, Constable Stephen Burns of TPS presenting at the TCAC meeting this past Monday. I'd wondered when it would be and it's right there at the end of bike month and the end of CMWC. It's name is the Bikes & Wheel Sport Safety Campaign. I'm hoping they don't waste too much time writing tickets to our guests, the lot from out of town aren't likely to pay any tickets issued far from home...they make nice souvenirs maybe

i would think that the park tool stuff falls squarely in the realm of novelty. it's not like those tongs will see much use. actually i was more impressed with the pedal wrench / flipper. what other tool can tighten a pedal and flip a patty?

Note that these rides haven't actually officially started yet.

1. Harbord House (north side of Harbord, just east of Brunswick, west of Spadina) is a new pub and quite good. The menu is also quite tasty. No pseudo English/Irish/whatever motif, just a nice place with friendly staff and two small patios overlooking Harbord. I also recommend the sticky pudding.

2. The Protector staring Tony Jaa... holy crap, what an awesome low (normal?) budget martial arts movie. It's a Muay Thai for the most part but there's some other interesting stuff mixed in there as well. He seems to be picking up the torch from Jackie Chan as far as "ridiculous fight choreography" but seeing it done w/ something like Thai kickboxing definitely gives it a cool look.

*flying knee slam to the chest*

cavit8 04-19-08 05:17 PM

the capoeira sequence is pretty cool.

the don is amazingly nice, just got back from a looong spin.

Did the bikerally group ride this morning. Had fun. I was hoping you'd show, Cam.

Yeah, well, I rolled out of bed at 11 this morning And for some reason I thought it was tomorrow - although it makes perfect sense that it wasn't given TTC doesn't roll until mid-day on Sundays.

I'm hitting up the bike swap for 9 tomorrow. If anyone wants to meet for a coffee etc. afterwards, lemme know. In the absence of consignment, I'm not expecting anything super-fantastic, but you never know.

jet sanchEz 04-19-08 09:10 PM

Bikeswap? Where?

shapelike 04-20-08 05:25 AM

MEC parking lot probably.

</complete guess>

cavit8 04-20-08 08:05 AM

As it turns out, it's not a swap, just collecting donations. I knew they weren't doing consignment but would have some bikes for sale. With the pending TTC strike, CBN was pretty much cleaned out of bikes but are still doing sales from their site on Queen W

jet sanchEz 04-20-08 08:20 AM

Hrm, the commute tomorrow will be nuts if they do go on strike. I remember Harbord was particularly insane last time, a cacophony of bike bells and car horns with a few swear words mixed in. Should be fun.
