*shudders at the thought* that only happened to me for a couple years when i lived on a farm as a kid... when we moved out we discovered the house was insulated with asbestos!

No, eh? i don't know who it was then - it appeared to be a tall guy on a black/green iro; he sprinted past me then did a u turn and yelled something out. maybe it was a post work blurry-eyed reverie.

heheheh, my first thoughts exactly.

It turns now so I guess it will just be a little bit of elbow grease to get it out but darn, I kinda liked that seatpost.

Public Service Announcement: Check your carbon bits for cracks/cuts/etc regularly. :)

what kind of frame is that? the seat tube cluster looks just like my schwinn...

tuz 05-12-08 01:58 PM

Holy crap Jet... How did that happen?

TRaffic Jammer 05-12-08 02:10 PM

Well Jet... you may have really liked that post but it would appear the post had differing feelings about you.

cavit8 05-12-08 02:10 PM

That bike is obviously defective and damaged your seatpost. I'll take it off your hands if you like before it kills again.

In terms of getting the post out, can you not just clamp on a monkey wrench or can drill a hold then bolt a cross bar on to help twist it out. Or clamp the post in a vise and use the bike to twist it out?

Sounds nifty. Make sure you've got a ticket home in case it turns out to be a gay bondage porn gig in disguise.

German Exkremente/Bondage pr0n.

P.S.: cav, how many bikes do you own/want/need?

TRaffic Jammer 05-12-08 02:38 PM

So..how many jobs do you "have" waiting for you vs. how many do you have to "get" once in country? Live in a tent and pocket the perdium. Do NOT GO OUT FOR ANY REASON....I've known models that have blown every penny keepin up with the night life.
Though a German Bondage scene shoot would get ya a ticket home if all went south.

I think the Math expression for this would be:

$x / $x + 1 / http://cdn-www.answerbag.com/images/...1205238459.gif

:D

Just a reminder that tomorrow night is looking great for the DSR Dirt ride. We'll meet at 6.30 and head out at 6.45. Last week was a blast and I'm sure tomorrow will be just as good (if not better)...

So I decided I'm going to strip everything off of an old 1980s racing frame and build it up as a fixie, which saves me from buying a new frame. Only problem is, I don't really like the frame colour/scheme.

I've researched a DIY paint-job, but don't really want to go that route/would probably screw it up. I've heard you can get places to powdercoat your frames/forks. Know of any good/reliable places that won't screw it up?

Any suggestions for colours/themes? I've seen so many beautiful bikes on Fixedgeargallery that I can't decide what I want.

thanks in advance

somnambulant 05-12-08 07:04 PM

hmm.. seems like my hub decided to die. The bearings at the very least. It doesn't really want to spin anymore. Then again, I have treated it like a red-headed step-child, so I'm not surprised.

You can take it over to Jet Kote in Mississauga. They're at Eglinton & Dixie, IIRC.
