So that accident must've been an unwanted unclip? Ouchie indeed :( Brutal for the poor girl following with nowhere to go, too - I love that in the shot as she's preparing for the pavement hit, she's already got her foot unclipped ready.
Watched Iron Man tonight, pretty neat - saw it on the new Digital projection theatre at the Queensway Cineplex, boo-ya. If one was going to get a good chain tool, which would you get? Using lots-o-torque has ruined my cheapo tool. Several budget options would be cool - I don't know what's good/worth it in terms of value for money. Pyze, if you're about tomorrow I can swing by your area/meet somewhere at your convenience - I'm going to be in the east end at some point I'm sure anyway - if not, I can certainly wait until Tuesday. |

Working all day Sunday.
Just swapped out my pads, noticed my cabling situation isn't ideal, and it's been grating a little on something causing a fray, so I've stripped that out and will refit a new one tomorrow after I take a closer look to see what was going on to cause it. Boo awake/tired/awake/tired cycle... Doh. |

no problem, glad to clear out the basement a bit. thanks for the peugot! i've actually built it up already for the whopping out of pocket cost of $30 (front loooong reach brake). couldn't find red fenders wide enough for it though.
Crumbs! I have a pair of Panet Bike fenders I painted red to match. I'll bring'em to work with me on Monday. I think they have all the hardware with them still. They're yours if'n you want'em. DG |

Vittoria's are pretty common, although whites may be harder to find. Honestly, few places can compete with PBKs prices. White Rubino pros are $20 per on there right now.
http://www.probikekit.com/display.php?code=Y1151 And blue open corsa's are $36 http://www.probikekit.com/display.php?code=Y1060 And that's before the 10% open discount. WIth free shipping, it's hard to beat. The last Rubino Pro I bought locally cost $35. curiously, do you know if their "limited time free postage to canada" is really 'limited time' or if it is always being promoted? |
I'd say it's not very limited as it's been in place for quite a while. They dropped it for a bit at one point but then reinstated it.

I finally picked a decent line and made it up that today. That thing's been bugging me for a while. Booya. |
are there any canadian online bike/part retailers?

Saw cam haulin' ass with a tailwind on the spit this morning, while tam and I were grinding into it going back the other way. No sense trying to catch a bent with a tailwind! :p
|
I turned around but couldn't find you after you'd exited the spit. All I heard was "CCAAGGHHH" as I went by. It took me a second to figure out it was likely you two. The headwind back was a bit of a grind for me too.
And I can't recall when I've felt like such a moving target as when I'm on that thing in traffic.... |

Is it one of those "face the same height as truck bumpers" jobbies? I always found that particularly disturbing.

Any of the regular riders in T.O. finding the air a little pollen rich this last week or two?
Either I'm feeling extremely crappy (sore throat, swollen sinuses, raw fibre-glass in my lungs) due to allergies (which normally I don't have a problem with) or I'm harbouring the nastiest respiratory infection ever. It doesn't hit me immediately after a ride, but the next morning I feel like death till I get moving again. I had a strange really rapid flu (I think) last week (fever, aches & pains, fatigue) for two-three days & now I feel fine except for the above mentioned complaints. Just wondering. Dave G. |

I had way too much fun, too. So much, in fact, that the guy behind me in the pics + 2 other people passed me as I borderline bonked on the last lap. BTW posing for Wil may be my new favourite race activity. I may start taking requests. Sudoku at Hardwood? |
Haha nice pics guys, looked like a lot of fun.
gutbucket: not really, could be remnants of your cold crap still, I've had a bit more allergy-type stuff, runny nose kind of gack, but otherwise just fine so far. What did really suck was heading east in any fashion yesterday, holy crap that was some fierce headwind, heh. I went across the lake to the valley and did some paved riding in the valley and hit the Beechwood Drive hill a couple of times for good measure - by the time I left the east end the wind wasn't strictly in a tailwind, but it was nice nonetheless - I treated myself to some Chippy's after catching a bit of rain heading home. |
