good news, no broken collarbone, just a small hairline crack...

bad news is the separated shoulder, at least one week in an immobilizer and a visit to see the oethopedic surgeon to make sure it is healing.

crap. no albion this week.

8 hours in e.r., stupid goverment.

Anybody know who carries Deda bar tape? I know Sporting Life does, but I don't want to go all the way up there.

Glad to hear the collarbone isn't fractured. Heal up

Hahaha.. I just showed the missus my Arnold Palmer drink (half iced tea, half lemonade.. courtesy of Exhibit-X) and I said, if I was famous enough to have my own drink like this, what would it be? She says "espresso mixed with beer".

going through the ridge near the start there is a up and over ramp thats about 2 feet wide on th up and narrows to carved log and 6 inch ramp on the down side. i thought it was onther one in the don that was wide the whole way. went over, lost it half way down, trhe bike went out under on the right and launched me over as the wheel hit. managed to get my right arm up but the left got pinned under me ang took the full force of the fall.

hopfully back on a bike in 7 days.

Wes, sorry for missing you today. We got crazy lost trying to find Bayview. Ended up riding around and having a pretty good time. Wet though!

It's been done

I haven't tried it -- I can't commit to a 6-pack of coffee beer.. and I'm still trying to work my way through the mistake of their "Wit" beer :notamused:

Oh uhh.. I actually totally and completely forgot about it, so it's more than ok. :) I got totally distracted cleaning out my office and bike room and it apparently totally slipped my mind. Rain check! (pun only partially intended)

Yeah, I've had a couple different coffee beers, but unfortunately none of them do justice to the two separate drinks. :) I'm actually not a super big far of most of the Mill Street stuff. I like the Organic beer in the Summer, and I had a Cobblestone Stout at the Victory Cafe last year that was amazing, but otherwise I'm kinda 'meh' on them.

They have a bar set up at their brewery that gives out free samples.
Just ride down there on a nice day and they'll give you a small glass or two of each of their beers

like the drew carey beer? doesn't mill street make a beer with coffee in it? although you could make your own and call it something like "wes' juice".

i'm sure you're thinking of dropping a shot of espresso in beer, boilermaker style.

Interesting read, thanks. Pretty much everytime I have sold a bike on CL the person asks me "Is this bike stolen?" and I am kinda like "Uhm, you are in my house, if it is stolen, clearly I am the dumbest thief ever." but I just say "No, it isn't". Heh.

As someone who sees ads all day, "Wes Juice" is a marketing nightmare.
Today's secret theme ingredient is, plaster dust!!! Back to sanding my daughter's walls.

What's the usual process for selling a bike via CL anyway? Test rides seem like a bad idea, but I can't imagine buying a bike WITHOUT test riding it either. I'm gonna be selling a couple bikes soon, so it's valuable information. :)

jeremywhitehorn 05-18-08 12:56 PM

last time i sold a whole bike, the guy wanted a test ride so i just went with him...

Yep, I insist that a person takes a test ride, that way both partys will be happy with the deal. I just get a piece of I.D. or ask them to leave their bag or something with me. It has never really been a problem and most folks offer to leave something, it just seems natural. You get a ton of emails usually and I always talk to the person on the phone first to be sure they are interested (and to get a phone number from them in case there is some drama).

For the last 2 bike sales I just asked for something of theirs to hold on to. The guy this morning gave me his car keys to his car right in front of my house and the guy before that gave me his backpack full of camera gear.
