You have just jinxed yourself. Ever say to yourself "I havn't had a flat in ages!" The result is usually a frustrating amount of flats in a ridiculously short period of time. Wear that lid.

A buck and a half each??!! That sounds like a total burn. Before you head out to Mississauga.....call up Mike at Bicycle Specialties. You can prolly get a bag of Campy ones for less than that....and get to visit the shop! BONUS!!

operator 04-19-06 03:45 PM

That I will do

Edit: Because I was a ****** and already paid for them. I'm hoping they won't hassle me for asking for a refund.

gokiburi 04-19-06 05:26 PM

keith, are you on non-winter hours now?

Joe Bent 04-19-06 05:34 PM

hah! I keep meaning to post the fact that this site is filtered by the network at work. I guess it's all the bike porn ;)

In random news that no one cares about, I just put some skinny slicks on the Surly 1x1, and it is ever so zippy now.

TRaffic Jammer 04-19-06 06:44 PM

skinny speedy sweetness

somnambulant 04-19-06 06:46 PM

speaking of new tires.. operator, how long did it take for you to get your order from pbk?

operator 04-19-06 07:15 PM

The package was dated 4/03 and i got it exactly 9 days later. I have another order coming in (cassette this time). We'll see how long it takes.

Oh and uh, it looks like they raised the prices on the rubinos like $3 each.

In my news dept i picked up a new set of bars off e-bay that I’ve been looking for a long time stamped (deda bianchi) they come stock on the pistas sweet bends.
Can’t wait to get these suckers.
Cheers

nothing worse than a cheap helmet that looks like a big old egg-shaped beer cooler on your head. when i decided that i should be wearing a helmet i went out and bought the most expensive, best-fitting helmet i could find. if you spend a wad of cash and it fits well on it you'll probably wear it more often than a cheapo.

Congrats! I found quitting to be damned hard at first but keep going, it gets easier and easier. Now when I smell cigarette smoke, I get nauseous. I do miss lighting a smoke while riding with no hands though....that always impressed the ladies ;)

You make it sound blastphemous to drink pints on a patio when it is nice. Is there another type of day that is better for outdoor imbibing? Now if he were to ask "who wants to play Dungeon's and Dragon's after work" than I would be piling on as well. Be that as it may....where did you have in mind Som? No more 360!! *sobs quietly in corner*

jeremywhitehorn 04-20-06 10:38 AM

dudes and ladies - i've heard mention of vietnamese sub shops on this thread in the past. i'm too lazy to search for it; what are some of the good ones?

operator 04-20-06 11:01 AM

Ok, this post is going to be next to worthless but i'm going to type it out anyhow. There are two on the west side of Spadina just north of Dundas (near Moon Bean lattitude wise). One of them is good, one of them sucks (IMHO). The one that is good has a long white counter on the left as soon as you walk in with a lady usually preparing more of them.

If she has a pile of recently made ones go for those, but if it looks like they might be a day old, ask her to make you one (F#(*$ old ones hate them).

Besides the not too cool to wear aspect, the round ugly (retro 1980s style) helmets actually afford the best protection. No snag points, more material and usually more coverage than the sleek aer0 roadie type helmet.

Of course i'd never wear one.

I might be coming downtown today, what time?

Bicycle Specialties, 7/32 bearings for 6 cents each, not campy but who cares. Time to fly downtown. Somnambulant post a time... !

I know you're not doing work so you have time to read this post! :D

I knew Motion could be expensive..but sometimes worth the extra cost for convenience. But from 6 cents to $1.50 each? Talk about gouging...JEEZ
