WTF, is this grade 12? Dude, can I bum a haul off your smoke?
Edit: $920?! Oh you bastard ... |
ugh.. I'm starting to experience a little knee pain/stiffness/ache in my left knee. sort of front/top part of my knee. Anyone think it's fixie related? Or just bike riding related? Or neither? I guess maybe I should consult a professional. Anyone know any sports doctors? I don't think normal doctors are any good at diagnosing this sort of thing.

Crackpot Theory #1:
Does your cleat alignment still look/feel okay? One of the guys at my work had his cleat slip a bit when he was on a ride. He didn't even notice it while he was on the bike, but his knee's in a sorry state of affairs now. |

I'd like to check out Adidas mtb or the Diadora bikecop shoes. Thanks.

I glanced at your page:
Goal: $2,000 Raised: $920 Sponsors: 12 46% of goal achieved ... which seems to be slightly out of date. Oh, and yes ... expect gas money from me. |
Any youse folk going to be in the Giro T.O.?
There will be one fixed marshall, so if you'd planned on riding it fixed let me know and I'll hook you up with the dude. Only on the 70km loop though. |

while we're on the topic of shoes.. has anyone had problems with the buckle on sidi dominators? the buckle on my right shoe fell off which i thought wouldn't be a problem since i could just screw it back. i torqued it on pretty tight but now it doesn't move/swing at all. it's also more difficult to thread the strap through and after all that, it still falls off every now and then!... still a great shoe though.
jyossarian, any luck with finding cycle therapy? google maps should give you exact directions from where you're staying. |
good to know ... I'm STILL haven't gone to go get my shoes.

so does the most recent version of the shoe come with metal levers? I was thinking about non-laced but not if things are going to snap off.

I also hesitate to go with a full velcro as well. I don't mind velcro as an addition to , but not as my primary way of cinching the shoe down.

Ride around without backpedalling/resisting at all without changing anything else and see. It took me a couple rides to dial in my cleats properly since switching from float to fixed. Float seems to allow you to be much more sloppy with the fit. picked up mine cheap as well and they came with the plastic levers. the ratcheting novelty is beginning to wear off.... Also, obviously y'alls are gonna have to kick in for gas with me or Keith. |

Over time I've found velco can full on let go, and after a few years depending on the quality of the velcro can be downright useless. It stretches and I've had velcro downs that weren't velcroed all the way along the strap. I have long, skinny feet and have ended up using less than an inch of closure to hold my shoes on, as I cinch them down tight, usually more than the average normal footed wearer.
That Moots is a sweet lookin' ride. I do so wish I could get my hands on a year one or two Trimble(sp?) MTB from back in the day. Carbon frame of the Gods. http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/3...rossjpg3nh.jpg http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/8...mblejpg5rj.jpg Bear in mind this design is almost 20 years old now. Hey I got excited when AlpineStar made E-stays Check out the crazy hunka-hunka- aluminum stay/dropout...made for a nice opener too. |
