Any other cross rider/store types want to throw in two cents regarding cross bikes, feel free. Cross so that I might toss another set of wheels on it and going a roadying.

speaking of which, I was walking home with the lady-friend on Saturday night along Harbord at around 1am and some joker on a fixie was riding the other way and was honking with some really rediculous sounding electronic horn. It wasn't very loud, but it made me smile and he seemed really happy about it as well. hehehe.. Now I'm on a quest to find a really inoffensive electronic horn for my bike. Don't make me try and make one with parts from active surplus
...
actually that isn't such a bad idea.

I've been thinking of dropping one of these down one of my bullhorns and rigging a cheap switch for a bell...
Active surplus used to be the bee knees but now they have no inventory and charge 3x what they used too, the gentrification of Queen continues. I miss the days of building overpowered hydraulic siege machines on weekends for fun. We still have a trebuchet that can chuck bricks at a stupidly high velocity...

Active isn't horrible it just has a 1/10 of the space it used too and has decided to move away from tinkers and more towards selling bread boards and LEDs and everything. Which would be fine but the prices did go up an astronomical amount.
The trebuchet is fun but the fact it requires hydraulics which makes it about as portable as any siege weapon.
I'm curious as to people's plans post CM, if anyone wants to come over and drink some beers and hang out my place is probably going to be free. The catch is I'm going to want to shoot some highdef video of your rides and talk to everyone about fixed-gear bikes for a mini-doc I'm doing about fixed gear riding.
Anyways if your interested shoot me an e-mail or PM or post or show up on CM...

Ok I posted but uh it disappeared.
To conqueror:
105 level SPD-SL's can still be had over at PBK for $45 shipped. Best deal on road pedals yet. However I wouldn't bother with any sort of non recessed cleats for intercity riding. My looks are annoying as hell to get around (walking) on but they pwn the **** out of the eggbeaters for long rides. They also have black (non-float) cleats for Looks Jammer, those are also the ****.
So in short. If anyone wants to get rid of some MTB shoes + pedals/cleats on teh cheap. Sale me.
I'm going down Wed/Thurs. *rubs hands in anticipation

wtf, wrong century for hundred years war. We all know longbows will pwn french cavalry anyways. Good game.

Jet Kote. $75 for dip, blast, one colour coat. I have rarely waited more than 1 week to get em back. 905-625-4334.

The other two look like they would be fixie/ss friendly...I don't know what hub they build with but it's a high flange they use for stiffness. Flip/flopable? https://www.ambrosiospa.com/

At any rate trebuchets are sitting ducks from flanking cavalry due to their static nature, or archers. As the maid has so nicely demonstrated lifting the siege of orleans.
Keith: that chainring I got from you doesn't fit on the spider... Is there some special voodoo thing i have to do to get it on?
