I was hellbent on getting 2x 10w or 2x 15w ... something like that. Has to be dual. http://www.batteryspace.com/index.as...S&Category=499 HID is teh $$. |

I thought it was like a Rorschach of some type. :D
I have a burning building costume in the basement, complete with Superman flying to the rescue. I don't know how ridable it would be though, might need some renovation. It's foam though, could act as padding during alleycat vector crossing. |

There's the big version of my avatar. I used to have it linked to my personal webpage where the big version is but then I had arch enemies on bikeforums, so had to remove it. My nickname for online stuff is robo (creative huh) so ^ rob, strap 50 of these to each of your fork legs. it'd be a b!tch turning them all on though. |
Or try to create a portable 12v system with a baggable battery, then run motorcycle headlights....oh yes....i wish i knew enough about electrics.
|
Yeah I did some research into those lights and the biggest cost of the DIY system is the battery and charger. The bulbs w/housing themselves are real cheap, $3-$15. In comparison a NIMH battery with (non-smart) charger that lasts 3-4 hours for a 10w is $160+.

AYBABTU is just a little bit more than that, and I have to say I'm ashamed to have been part of its popularization.

you might try reading this article by the randonneurs. those guys know all about riding in the dark for nights on end. the consensus is to use a generator powered light. sometimes more expensive but worth it. http://www.randonneursontario.ca/tech/trlights.html |

This guy wont put fenders on his bike cause of drag. Darkmother: when you said smart charger, did you mean the ones with battery sensing/complete shutoff, temperature based turn off or set charge time/trickle? Man where are the speciality battery stores when you need them. Edit: This is a halogen setup. |
Just get some night vision goggles already.

PS. Hey, CSIS. What's up? |
I go to the hobby shop for any battery packs.
So guess we got a glimpse of jet & ya that’s a great get-up. Took the day off went to the ex same old same old. Walked over to Ontario place listening to the sounds of the family values tour & my little guy is like dad what’s all the noise. Ha Cheers |
Sweep, i saw a photo of a certain crank bros tattoo on martino's bike lane diary (images of critical mass). anyone you know?

Darkmother: when you said smart charger, did you mean the ones with battery sensing/complete shutoff, temperature based turn off or set charge time/trickle? Man where are the speciality battery stores when you need them. if you had your own powersupply that u can run, get a lipo charger...they are only like 50 bucks for a 2 cell charger...and batteries can be had for under 100 depending what capacity you were looking for. another route is going with one of those tactical lights that run off primary 123s...they have low voltage cut off to protect batteries as well as a regulated current draw so that you always get consistent brightness all the way till the end of the battery cycle. you can get luxeon bulbs that run off a single 123 that outputs 80 lumens...that's plenty bright for road riding. additionally, these mostly have tuned optics for a very clean beam battern...no hotspots and tons of residual side spill. i personally run a HSD EDC 60 :D |
