SF was unique. As I recall some messengers in San Francisco used baskets into the early nineties, mainly because there was one company (I can't remember the name) that would supply bikes already equiped with baskets.

But Zo bags were being made well before '92 so a lot of SF messengers must have already been using the single strap by the time this video was made.

This actually has me thinking I should get all my old VHS footage put on DVD. Anyone here have a puter/program capable of doing this? I can go to one of the commercial places but it costs quite a bit. Compensation can be arranged.
Oh yeah...more good news from the racing front. My buddy and all around nice guy Brooks has a 7th and 13th place at the Masters World Track Champs in Manchester, U.K. 7th in the world....not too shabby!

Here are a very few..... I've totally blown my upload limit to hell....barely a third of the photos went up, and I haven't even gotten to the party ones yet.

tj, what's the upload limit? do they have to be super high res for people to look at on their computer screens? it doesn't look like you have that many pics uploaded (33?).. a jpeg at 640x480 with minimal compression is still pretty easy on the eyes and not that big for example. i use a great program called xnview for batch processing image files at work. it's best thing since sliced bread and it's free!

I've editted over a hundred shots.... cropping, levels, sharpens etc. I guess the default setting in Pshop for the jpegin was maxed but still. I'll batch out the rest at a lower setting and create another account maybe..... damnit.

yeah.. I have a flickr pro account and I usually still reduce all my pics to 700px on their widest size, 72dpi and probably 6 or 8 in the jpeg quality slider. That's enough for most images on the intarweb. Plus I don't want people ripping off uber high-res files of my shizzle (and the uploads are faster, obviously).

edit: I had xnview on my pocketpc back in the day.

I've tried to create a new account....stupid me added the same email addy and now it's saying oh you want to merge your accounts....blah blah blah....damnit..
I guess lowerinf the JPEGing and resubmitting them wouldn't go anything towards flickr letting me upload more?

Unless...... wes I could FTP the rest of the shots to you, do you have upload restrictions in your Pro account?

look what just arrived in my email

That is awesome. I don't know how many times I have crashed and said "I wish someone got that on film" When looked at this way he is actually lucky. He was probably all "Yeah..my bike is creaking but it will be fine"
I like the cringe on the guy in the yellow and orange shirt

I usually end up drilling em off. If the heads are fkuced then drilling is prolly yer only option. Pick a nice quality bit that is slightly smaller than the head....drill away...when you get sufficiently deep in the bolt head pry off remaining head and cleat with a screwdriver. Remove remainder of bolt with vice-grips clamped on the protruding bolt. If you still cant get the leftover bolt out, most shoes allow you to replace the threaded plate in the shoe with new ones. Grease up new bolts...install cleats and ride.

I can PM you my FTP info and the .zip filename if you'd like. I'm off to the dentist after work.
He still has his hands on the grips..... total failure. I think I'd rather take that than a full trail face plant.

Oh man... such a long day at work. Yesterday on my way home from work a taxi cab cut me off brutally on front street and became victim to me yelling and giving him the finger, so the driver got out of his car came toe to toe with me and threatened to punch me in the face. So I yelled a racial slur at him. "YOU WANNA GET CRAZY, MOHAMMED, LETS GET CRAZY!" I'm not proud of that fact, but I don't know how else I would have gotten under this jackasses skin, and he had been very close to severely injuring me and then threatened to injure me further... I'll stand by my guns.

Sorry to hear about the incident. Check out insultmonger.com for some good ethnic insults (the site may not be worksafe). I have a few favourites in Farsi and Cantonese. I had some fool edge his car into the College bike lane from a parking lot while looking right at me. He got a huge loogie on the hood, but I sometimes don't feel good about what is really needless roadrage on my part. Someone aggressively cutting me off, another story. Maybe I need to mellow out a bit.

Man, I am so glad the '90s are over I watched some of the competitions during the CMWC and I remember everyone riding naked along Queen West late at night. There were about 300 naked dudes taking up all the lanes; I was sitting on the Futures patio and nearly choked on my $1 mashed potatoes

Yes.

But, speaking of my b0x0rs, I didn't realize there was so many pictures and I don't want to fill up MY flickr stream with YOUR photos, so instead I just used a photoshop automation to create this gallery on my server:

https://www.somnambulant.net/globalgutz/

distribute url freely. it's a colocated server I run with some friends that's hosted down in cal-ee-for-nigh-eh, so it can handle the feeble traffic we can throw at it.
