strange question but has any one riding an indoor trainer naked and are the worth the money? I was looking at the trainer that has rollers so you have to balance on them with your bike .

what the hell steeker, do you have typing tourets syndrome? I saw a commercial with Bob Roll one time and he was naked cycling on a trainer with bling around his neck. It was one time too many.

Meet at Gerry and Heathers in Rosedale at 7 AM Sat. Sun. & holiday Mon. That way we can get to Laird and Eglinton by 9 AM if we feel like doing the long route.

I am not asking you to watch me unless you want to , I never tried to the roller trainers but think they would be better than the stationary ones

I like this thread. Nice quick responses. I think that I'll have to visit more often.

After all we are all Toronto cyclists. So much in common, so much to talk about.

Rollers are, as stationairies(sp?) , a sweat box, naked riding is not recommended as you will be dripping sweat all over your ride. Steeker you ARE a sick f*#k and I hope you know I mean that in the nicest of ways. Junior in Train.. these are a bunch of good people here.

I feel kinda bad. I ran over a pigeon today, no room to dodge and he evidently was eating fermented mung off Dundas in Chinatown as his reaction time wasn't what it should have been. In the middle of traffic I had no wear to dodge and, judging from the faces of the passerbys the result wasn't pretty. I could feel him going past my toes into the rear wheel (another benefit of wearing sandals, you doubters) and some noises from my cog followed. When I was able to look back I thought I could see it flopping into the oncoming traffic. Hopefully it's end was quick.

But then I saw a squirrel and I like squirrels, so I felt better.

I really need to try out the rollers the next time I'm out at the velodrome. They frighten the hell out of me for some reason, which scares me away from trying them for the first time. They look like fun, but I think I'd just as well go for a road ride instead (if I want to work on my form as well as just get a workout). At least with a regular stationary trainer I can do other things at the same time (watch tv, etc).

edit: tj: let me know how that goes. I'm curious if a regular tanning bed would give enough UV to help at all since my psoriasis is quite minor, but I get flareups in the Winter because of the lack of UV. I don't think I want to have to trek up to Sunnybrook regularly though.

I need a new band for my rollers.

edit ...thing is my doctor said I have significant body psoriasis, after getting the referral it's been clearing up. EAse up stress diet... just knowing a specialist will be seeing me I don't know. I'm type1 because of the red hair and freckles so they might take one look at me and say noooooo way bacon boy. This is the medical UV, Women's College is the only Ontario hospital that has one (paid for it themselves)

I don't know Rosedale very well. Where's Gerry and Heathers? I have to rebuild my headset and bottom bracket so if get that done on Friday, I'll try to make it out.

And if you visit this thread often, you'll likely find out more than you want to know: like skin conditions and visions of steeker riding naked on rollers...

He hasn't met Steeker, so at least he can't actually visualize the man himself sweatin' to the oldies.

I'm from the land of psoriasis (NL), so it seems crazy to me that a city this size only has the one UV treatment lab.
