Evicting someone is not a fast process. It takes a long time and a court order and a cool policeman.

Exactly. I have a term paper to write and would love an exuce to procratinate more.

By the way, anyone know Sunshine Sketches of a Small Town at all, and say, how well it represents urban Ontario in a rural setting at the beginning of the 1900"s?

For curiosity sake alone.

Not when you are living in residence my friend. You are as they say, permanently stuck on the business end of a back alley glory hole .

Haha crazy, I watched that movie on VHS with some friends last night but had to go to bed right after that scene because it was late. "Vincent, are we good?" "......we good"

gokiburi 11-01-06 11:58 AM

in a similiar vein, i was watching godfather 3 last night and had to stop half-way because it was also past my bed time.

Offhoff 11-01-06 12:01 PM

i have no idea why riding a bike downtown should not be part of the driving portion of getting a license. they should rig the course with things like fake door-prizes, cabbies cutting you off to pick up a fare, and of course, pedestrians jumping out on the street. nothing like real life to learn ya.

that too. not sure how i forgot that.

It would seem licensing assumes everything around you happens in a nice orderly fashion, whereas we all know that chaos is what rules the universe and that any semblance of order they perceive is merely a figment of their imaginations.

Heheh, seriously, all of the things goki mentioned are true but I think the thing that is the most dangerous riding a bike downtown are dangerous cyclists. The ones who don't check their six, the ones who don't look around, the ones who ride on the sidewalk, they give the rest of us a bad name.

On a funny note, I ran into that guy with the lightning tatoo on his forehead again last week, I think I mentioned him once before, this crazy guy with long hair who started talking to me as we rode along Queen. When we came to Bathurst, instead of stopping at the red, he just said "K, see ya!" and went straight through the red causing lots of screeching and honking and swearing. Kind of hilarious because he just didn't give a ****.

So yeah, last week, again on Queen west, I was between cars due to idiocy (not my own, cab or something was pulled over) and I was hustling along when I see Lightning riding in front of me, between two cars, keeping pace with them and riding without hands. Fine, no biggie, no hands is fun, even on a ****tty mountain beater, which he was on but it is a little dangerous between two moving cars but whatevs, I already know he doesn't give an eff. He then proceeded to cut the car on his left off by turning into its lane and going across the streetcar tracks to avoid a big tour bus, all of this no-hands. Pretty impressive, I thought. The guy in the car was pissed but I think he was a bit amazed that this guy had cut him off so boldly and without hands. He stayed in the middle of the lane and kept going at a pretty good clip and then cut back into the lane right of the tracks and cut off a tour bus, again, no-hands. All along I was thinking, k, I hope I can remember all of my CPR training because this guy is going to be street paste any second but he just kept going and going. He was alongside another bus and then a truck came up along his left and he still didn't put his hands on the bars until we got to Bay and he turned off.

Deathwish? High? Needs insurance money? He isn't a courier because he had nothing with him, just his clothes. Very weird, whatever the case may be, keep your eyes peeled for him, I think he is a riot but very dangerous. Talk about giving cyclists a bad name, heheh

TRaffic Jammer 11-01-06 01:15 PM

No hands cutting back and forth across the tracks?..... I'll pass thanks

i'd say if nothing else it idealizes the the pastoral ideal of rural ontario. after all, it's called "Sunshine" sketches, on the whimsical side, mentioning nothing of the physical and financial harships these people faced.
yeah, i read it in university; english professors everywhere get a huge ***** for stephen leacock; i know he's supposed to be funny but i'd call it more whimsy than anything.

jeremywhitehorn 11-01-06 02:40 PM

congrats keith; when you mentioned getting a suprise box in the mail here i was thinking it would be some hip set of vintage campy pedals or some such thing, but divorce papers will do i suppose. when are we going to take you out to get drunk and go howling at the moon?

Offhoff 11-01-06 02:58 PM

Ooooh 500 for it....thats very tempting...its frame and fork, does it have a headset, stem or BB? So many decisions so little time.

Keith, when you're done with the divorce papers get the signing page copied shrunk down to playing card size and get it laminated. Cool spoke card or what?
