If only I was capable of facial hair beyond the "it looks like a fungus is growing on your face" but then again I also lack back hair and for that I am grateful.

I went to a club a few months in fancy clothes and got turned away because of my clipless shoes. The guy even told me that I was dressed fine except my shoes. Most of the ladies went in without me

Most people are leaving the office early today so they can go home and change (Today had to be casual friday). I have alot of work to do so I'm sticking around but I don't wanna bike to the place with my suit on!

Ah hell its only at Adelaide and John (I was wrong about the richmond thing). I'll just walk the 1.5k.

re: shaving. My beard is pretty full but I can just get away with shaving every other day. On the weekend I don't care, but if I show up to work having not shaved for 3 days, people notice and mention it!

edit: Canice, just get a fleece balaclava. its much more versatile.

Facial fungus.. so funny..

When I grow my facial hair.. the moustach and chin grow all nice..
but the cheeks grow in strange irregular patterns.
One side is full the other there is hair missing.

I look like Asian Teen Wolf that had a shaving accident.

I've got one. I'm not much of a fan of facial coverings beyond hair... but when it's cold out that works pretty well. Doesn't crust up with ice as much as a knit covering.

man, you've been in an 80s movie mood lately!

as for facial coverings, i'd use one of those MEC mask things if it fit properly. for now, the balaclava works nicely.

oh *****, weird science! that is probably the most ludicrous (sp) movie ever made. i mean, think about it, two rerds hook a barbie doll to an commadore 64 with booster cables and POW! you have kelly lebrock in the flesh. i mean, it's so close to reality.

if you want a cheap balaclava there's always army surplus. i got a thin, althleticy (sugoi) one from Urbane for about $25.

I've got a full-on neoprene one and I found that it tends to vent near the cheekbones promptly fogging up goggles or glasses. I tried opening the mouthholes to no avail and some detriment as my lips are more exposed. This design may not do that if it's a little snugger at the top and allows good air exchange. I'm going to play around with mine a bit and see if I can vent it differently.

I brought it with me today, but the man-fur sufficed.

I'll be away for a week around the 25th, but I'm up for a ride and swill at some point. We should definitely get the scotch ride happening.

Unless you happen to be in the desert on christmas I don't think it will work for me. I was on the phone with my mum today and she said it was 'positively cold'. yeah, 25c during the day and 15c at night is pretty brutal indeed...

So this guy comes in the shop, and we start talking about fixies. He needs a hub and cog. No problem. I ask him what frame he is using as he may need to re-space his hub. "A Lemond frame...got it cheap from Igor but I don't think it is stolen" I laugh at this. Chances are it is stolen I tell him. You really think so? he asks. I re-assert the fact that Igor is a scumbag who should not be taken at his word. Spirited discussion ensues with the guy getting all flummoxed that I would suggest he bought a hot bike. YOU BOUGHT IT FROM IGOR! You asked me....I told you....you get yer hair up. WTF is wrong with people?!

You just opened up his Pandora's box of consciousness. He was trying to trick himself into thinking he's not riding someone else's bike, and you correctly informed him he probably was, so he felt inferior, threatened and embarassed. Same thing happens when your wife tries to return a louis vuitton purse to the store only to find out its actually a knockoff you bought at Times Square. Sometimes deals are so good you are willing to ignore the reason they are so. I'd never buy anything from Igor because you can't tell what he's rubbed his d*ck and a*s on.
