Not great but not terrible. I seem to remember that it was popular somewhere I was at some point, and I've had it before for some reason, but I don't think it was for a hangover.

PS your mid day coffee runs make me jealous

I just got back from one. Had some business at Queensway/Eastmall and then headed down to the lake and took the scenic route home. Fast ride if you're heading East!

Vodka and Orange Juice is good for a hangover.

Orange Juice is good if you've done too many drugs. .... edit: so I've heard

Water is always the best.

So I'm rereading Neuromancer as I wait on feeds and I just want to say that if we ever get to building something like Freeside I want to ride at the low-grav high traction tire velodrome and go 100k+

The sky above the port was the color of televison, tuned to a dead channel.

All I remember offhand... Amazingly fun read.

I actually enjoy it. Its a bit of an aquired taste admittedly. Its called a "Red Eye" and my Dad has been drinking it (used to be with a raw egg in it before we knew better) since I can remember. Time tested hangover cure. The wake and bake with the Red Eye....JACKPOT!

TRaffic Jammer 12-19-06 02:36 PM

Wake and Bake with Red Bull TM!!! Shamelessly searching for a sponsorship..

Shiznaz 12-19-06 02:38 PM

hahaha working in an office is funny. For the first time ever I was just treated to a circular cannon by all the phones in the surrounding cubicles. I think there were 5 of them going off at once, very slightly after one another, so two would be going off an once, and the sound kept spinning around me clockwise each ring cycle!

edit for my musings: What do you think the people at the office would think if I started to drink a case after case of non-alcoholic beer all day? What does that stuff even taste like? I think it would be a lark.

TRaffic Jammer 12-19-06 03:25 PM

Whatever they think it wouldn't be good and I assure it would somehow follow you forever in your working life  This will be on your permanent record.

Except the guy thinks GF makes road bikes. Ha! Noob!

edit: I totally bought a used Mongoose BMX for $50 in the spring, and sold it for $175 in the fall. I should tell that guy that, and then buy him a warm beer.

I've been playing around with Aperture today when I haven't been reading and I found a bunch of photos I took at critical mass but never got around to doing post-processing on so here are few...

Priceless. Cam and I had coffee at Ideal waiting for you and then went to cavern. Crossed wires or something. Cute girl there too.

well like i say i'll probably be back there tomorrow between errands; shout if you want to try again.

cavit8 12-19-06 05:40 PM

Yes Audrey was there.....mmm..... Audrey..... free coffees are good too.

Offhoff 12-19-06 05:43 PM

<--- doesn't get the Audrey Tatou ideal obsession, might be an age thing.

This post is more to say that every time I see Cavit8's name I think of Jonesy in "Hunt for Red October" telling the skipper there cavitating when the American's go full reverse during the crazy ivan.

Why yes, I am a nerd, why ever would you ask?

yeah i don't even like the coffee that much, just the scenery. no actually, i really, really like the coffee. anyone made their espresso at home with a moka pot? as good as in store?

it's not an age thing offhoff, just simple taste in women. just watch Amelie and you'll get it.

Offhoff 12-19-06 05:55 PM

I've watched Amelie, and your right its just not my type of girl. Though girls who speak French can be the hawtness I've been corrupted by way too much time on beaches. Its all about a long, lean, tanned blonde girl with a surfboard for me.

The only espresso's I've ever had in homes that were as good or better then a good indie coffee shop with a proper espresso machines are people who have top-of-the-line equipment. After the beans it comes down to having a good machine and using it well I find, which is why I never buy anything more then drip coffee at the big chains.

Shiznaz 12-19-06 05:55 PM

Interesting ride home today.

Traveling along front, rickshaw parked perpendicular to the curb backs straight out into traffic. I see it barely in time and skid to a stop. I politely introduce myself to the guy and offer him one of my rear blinkies because his rickshaw is really hard to see and totally unexpected. I hand the guy my light and he starts explaining how his cart is really visible and how if you don't see the awning on it you're blind. Then he said there wasn't anywhere to put the blinkie on his cart (yeah right), and started to become sour about the whole ordeal. I reminded him that I was doing him a favour and giving him a 5 dollar blinkie and took off. He was kind of a jerk about it and regret giving it to him now, although he is a real danger if he continues to pull that thing around at night with no lights.

Then on shaw I experienced Toronto's finest swerving and protecting at it were. Most aggressive pass I've encountered in a while. I didn't end up catching them at the red ahead because they turned right (without coming to a stop).

Then further up shaw there was a cyclist leisurely taking up the whole road riding no hands, so I came up behind them and gave them a ding a ling of my bell and they started riding with hands and moved over. As I come up next to them I notice its Dominique so we say hi and have a quick chat, but we were pretty much right outside her house so we cut it short.

PS. I like my outfit in your picture Offhoff. Also I think thats the only picture of my bike I have online!

I make mine in a moka pot and it's okay, not as good as in house. I'm champing at the bit waiting for my La Pavoni to get here. If I got ripped off, I'm riding to Nelson BC to beat someone up.

And Amelie is a cutie, not just by being cute, but by lighting up my day when she smiles. It's the kind of smile thatjust glows. That and she wears baggy clothes so she probably has an awesome six pack and does chin ups in the back while the coffees roasting. yay.

Also nice to know Dominique is still around. Even though she's too cool for us now, I still miss her.

i know the machine is a factor for sure, but was just wondering if the taste was seriously compromised in moka pots. funny about the major coffee chains. i usually end up doing the opposite and ordering an americano because their drip coffee gets bitter sitting in carafes for hours.
