I think it was Eric? on a lovely Fuji track bike for the win.
It was damned cold... loads of coverage it seemed but merely a quick mention on CityTV.
Apparently it will be airing on TeleMondo in the US, the guy was yaking away with Manny in spanish and will try to send him a tape. There was this killer recumbent with two blades on the front, killer fast, I kept waiting for his wheel to fold in the cornering lol. A good time served chilled.

Some messer on a Gardin went into the rubber race after borrowing a helmet and mashed his chainring crashing into the gate that separates the two rinks. A hammer and an adjustable wrench got him home.

HEY how much for a set of DeepV rims here in Toronto roughly?...... Was looking at my frame this morning.

gokiburi 02-19-06 11:54 AM

damn, it was damn cold yesterday. i hope someone's going to post some damn pics.

somnambulant 02-19-06 11:59 AM

cold.. real cold.. :)

I don't guess anyone here knows any of the photogs that were there last night, huh? I'd like to see some of the pics. I know there was one guy there that I always see at Crit Mass, but I don't know his name.

somnambulant 02-19-06 12:35 PM

found some pics by looking through the Toronto tag on Flickr..

So were you able to stick it out? How did the non-studded guys do, did anyone try?
Cheers

Jim Kooz of Toronto won the final race, he's pretty slick on the ice, got 2nd in Montreal this year too. That was a good time last night, lotsa laughs whether or not you raced (I didn't, hell I didn't even ride to get there being just a few blocks away) Great fun! Pray to something for a cold winter next year, maybe it can be out on the lake again

somnambulant 02-19-06 02:15 PM

Yeah, the lake would be awesome. I'd like to give it a try also.. I need to be learned in the art of tire studliness. :)

operator 02-19-06 03:41 PM

That torontocranks site is slower than molasses... Yeesh.

somnambulant 02-19-06 04:04 PM

yep.. brutal. I hope it's just because people are trying to view those pics! If not, they really need a new host. :P

In fact, even if that's the case, they probably STILL need a new host!

operator 02-19-06 04:46 PM

Check out the August CM pics on torontocranks. I think we were in some of those.
At the very least I remember that guy on the trike getting a ticket by that cop lol.

I'm looking for a set of Nitto B125 39cm handlebars and a Sugino Zen ring in a 47T. I'll be driving through two weeks from now and I was wondering if there was any shop in TO you guys knew of that carries either of these. Feel free to PM me if you've got the low-down.
Thanks

Sirrobinofcoxly 02-19-06 06:38 PM

Getting my frame back from Spectrum tomorrow. I'll post pics. I'm doing my own decals and everything. Should be sweet...or horrible, depending on how sober I am.

somnambulant 02-19-06 07:10 PM

sr20det 02-19-06 07:49 PM

i believe the Urbane Cyclist carries the steel nitto bars. if not they can probably order them for you. don't have a source for the Sugino ring, sorry...

sweep242 02-19-06 08:52 PM

E-BAY But but deal with the LBS first.Urbane is a good start.
Cheers

Heya, I just started this winter so it couldn't of been me. If you see an little asian kid laboring in the back, THAT would be me.
and the last nitto track drops B123's cro-mo's have my name on it :)
I haven't seen B125's around and I know for sure there aren't any ZEN chainrings in the back of urbane.
ask cavern cycles, they got fun track stuff.

also, there was a guy who posted on the trading thread who wanted to trade a new ZEN chainring (he has multipul sizes) for a brand new Sugino 75 chainring + a bit. PM him and get a chainring from him.

if your real desperate for a ZEN type chainring, check out the FSA one. http://imagescommerce.bcentral.com/m...nringthumb.jpg its also 144 BCD.

it was a good time.... pretty chilly on the feet....
I rode from Leslie/Queen....stopped at Betty's for a pint on the way home.
Thanked all major and minor deities for the tailwind home.

I'm not terribly keen on the FSA logos on the front. If it comes to buying one retail online, I'll just get it from Business Cycles.

Thanks for the tips, y'all.

Huh, I am also an Urbane regular but haven't seen you there. That is be an awesome job for a teenager, I wish I had thought of that when I was your age. Fun. I am dropping off one of my Shimano wheels to get some new cones put on it, maybe I will see you there.
