lol wackiness..... slip slidin' away.
I really think I'd rather have an 'Apple Juice' or three and a puff and watch the races this week-end, than actually do it. Maybe next time...lol

somnambulant 02-16-06 02:18 PM

oh yeah.. no way my non-studded tires are going anywhere near the race. :) But as I said before, I'd definitely be up for spectating and maybe hooking up for a couple soda-pops before and/or after.

TRaffic Jammer 02-16-06 03:07 PM

I think I'll be bringin' a few large cans or bottles of nuthin special beer. Figure I'll just apple juice it there..... Who makes a palatable big bottle that can be re-sealed AND be gotten at the beer store?

HEY I even have wifey permission. *hands on hips all proud* lol

Gosh....since discovering this BF, I am soooo jonesing to build up my frame with a flip/flop wheel ..... I gotta try this fixie stuff now.

cavernmech 02-16-06 03:32 PM

The studded class has become very competitive over the last few years. That being said the rubber class race is always the most entertaining.....and no shortage of willing participants usually. Also Derek has a habit of giving the best prizes to rubber class winners.

TRaffic Jammer 02-16-06 03:41 PM

Is there a distinction between store studded and the crazy tires the boys and girls are making? I think a rubber class riders SHOULD get the better prizes.

Yo are you guys going for Fridays ice race event?
I'll be downtown tomorrow doing work anyways.

somnambulant 02-16-06 09:32 PM

sweep242 02-16-06 09:52 PM

Saturday feb 18 6-9 pm

operator 02-16-06 11:54 PM

There's events on Friday as well. Not a typo.

TRaffic Jammer 02-17-06 06:54 AM

Friday? where?

cavernmech 02-17-06 07:21 AM

[QUOTE=TRaffic Jammer]Is there a distinction between store studded and the crazy tires the boys and girls are making? QUOTE]

Yes. The store bought ones lose.....the homemade ones win.

TRaffic Jammer 02-17-06 08:50 AM

^^^LOL^^^ hmmm 100 little wimpy studs vs. 700-1000 screws....
Now Saturday are we watching an indoor or outdoor race? The wind chill is supposed to be horrific. I have no problem riding in the **** but sitting will require another layer or two, plus the wobbly pops.

jet sanchEz 02-17-06 11:23 AM

Get lots of pics, whomever goes. I am interested in some close-ups of the homemade tires, they sound wild.

TRaffic Jammer 02-17-06 11:25 AM

Did you see the year Albert sliced his leg open with his?....those things are evil to look at, mount ...anything

I was racing him when it happened. All I remember is going down the straight.....into the corner....and I hear a big "THUMP". No more Albert. His leg was pretty nasty. But he's tough..cough, cough.

TRaffic Jammer 02-17-06 12:07 PM

as in gamey?...lol

GOOD LORD Albert is the cover of the GTA section in theStar today!!!!

operator 02-17-06 02:03 PM

Yeah i saw that, they just reused the picture from the dufferin park website.

Also I saw a news item for event Today at said park. But apparently I was somking some seriously wrong crack, since there is nothing but regular events there.

TRaffic Jammer 02-17-06 02:37 PM

So what time is everyone gettin' there? Keepin an eye on the temp though.

operator 02-17-06 03:21 PM

I'm going to be there at 18:00. +/- 0.25 hours.

TRaffic Jammer 02-17-06 03:26 PM

Cool lookin' forward to meetin' some of you guys. I'll bring a couple of....um.... how can I say..... HERB! and a spot O' apple juice. If it's death cold out, I may wuss....fair warning.
