After the cortisone and other anti-inflammatory meds I went with Powerstep ProTech orthotics. The standard Powerstep orthotics don't help, they must be ProTech version which you have to buy through a doc's office. SupremeMed online is the only online retailer that I've found that sell them also.
In combination with those, a good shoe fitting for sneakers at a reputable run shop.
Now I just need to limit being barefoot and wearing flip flops. Hasn't flared up for me since.
