Coffee in the water bottle

Nothing wrong with it.
I personally wouldn't put hot coffee in a plastic bottle though, I doubt the plastic is really designed for high temperatures and can leech all sorts of chemicals. Stainless steel bottle is fine though.

Is your question about whether it's okay to drink coffee while riding a bike? Is this a serious question?

No not a serious question. I just never put coffee in my water bottle before. I wrote a thread on it because I thought it might be a fun topic for a rainy day. Also wanted to see if others had done this.

Skratch Labs has a apples and cinnamon hydration mix that is designed to be mixed with hot water for cold days. I haven't used it hot but it tastes good with cold water. All of the warmth of coffee and less of a diuretic (none of that sweet, sweet caffeine though).

Cool! I rarely drink soda...but Coke with ice would indeed sure be refreshing on a hot day!
Isn't there a Velonazi rule that covers that? Something like "Thou shalt not drink coffee on the bike unless the temperature is below 45*F"?

I have a grey WB specifically for coffee. And for very long days, I often carry three water bottles in cages so I can have two drink bottles and my coffee. (Third bottle tourer style under the DT.)

Ah, I missed the point about the bottle. I agree that it's probably a bad idea to put a hot beverage in a plastic bottle. I'll use my Nissan thermos travel tumbler for on-the-bike coffee. It fits well enough in a bottle cage and keeps the coffee hot for the whole ride.
