Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What are your thoughts on the CX?
They don't fit into 2.5mm hub flange holes, which is an absolute and total deal killer for us.

Gotchya. That probably explains why they're overlooked, because they don't fit most hubs! I guess they're probably an OEM wheel builder item; I wonder who uses 2.8 wide aero J bends....?

What a difference spokes and spoke count makes....At 250 I was popping spokes on my CAAD8 stock wheels and bought a low end Vuelta HD set that are tanks...Now I just bought a Madone 2.1 and the wheels are not budging yet...I am hesitating to put the Vuelta's back on...might get rid of them to help finance a better set.
I pretty much only use my bike for exercising so the weight is not that much a factor for me.

The thing about engineering principles is that a) they are principles, so people trying to discuss engineering would do well to know them, and b) they have broad applicability. There is no need for a separate theory of the elastic and inelastic behavior of pasta.
