Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Illinois MS150

OKay, so the cycling bug that's been lit under my butt was sparked by the Illinois MS 150 (June 26-27).

So I was just curious how many other people from here are participating in it this year, and for those who have participated in it in the past, can you please share some ideas as to what to expect for this newbie?

Thanks!

Haven't done the Illinois version but have the one next door (Missouri). My experience - albeit from several years ago - is that these are well supported rides with plenty of rest stops. Check the terrain - if its generally flat or rolling hills then that obviously is easier than steep/frequent climbs.

Can't offer more - hope that some past participants will chime in. But good luck - these are great events and raise money for a good cause.
