Buying Garmin 810 - Anyone know what the Performance and Navigation bundle includes?
I've been searching for this online and can't find an answer. I'm going to buy a Garmin 810, but I can't find any information on this bundle and whether or not I need it. Anyone know what it includes?

I don't know but I'll guess. You should confirm with your retailer. It's probably maps, and an HRM. Garmin sells both separately, and I think the 810 comes with a base map that's not terribly useful unless you buy their more-detailed ones.
I think their latest HRM goes for about $70 and you can put free, high-quality Open Street Maps on the 810, I've been using them on my 800 for years.

Click on "In the box".
The Navigation bundle comes with very good, detailed maps (this is not the basemap). The Openstreetmap (OSM) maps are very good too.
The basemap that all the units come with doesn't have much detail. It's there for large zoom levels and to avoid having to show a blank screen if there isn't a detailed map (it's not useful for navigation).

So it's maps, HRM, and speed/cadence sensor. I was very close.
- The HRM is old and outdated, but in a way that probably only applies to runners.
- GSC-10 (speed and cadence) is $40 on Amazon.
- This is how to put free maps on your Edge.

If it's the HRM3 as I'd expect it to be, there's no functional difference between it and the HRM-RUN that applies to cyclists. The HRM-RUN only adds the running dynamics stuff like (running) cadence, vertical oscillation, and ground contact time. Even these are of questionable value for most runners as the data isn't especially actionable. As such, "old and outdated" isn't really applicable as there's room in the lineup for a lower priced HRM for those with no interest in the Running Dynamics feature.
Going price for the Premium HRM on Amazon is currently under $41: https://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Premium.../dp/B00BI9X1QM
Note that any ANT+ HRM should work fine with the Garmin 810; particularly handy if you happen to already have a running watch with ANT+ HRM. Just use it with the 810 as well. If you don't need the HRV data that chest straps provide more accurately than optical units, consider the Scosche Rhythm+ Optical HR band as an alternative.

I haven't looked into the 810, but when I bought my 800 I got the HRM and SC sensor separately and saved money, had a miniSD card and used OpenMaps to load the maps I wanted for free. saved about $50 that way.
