A computer that displays your cadence will help, but not absolutely necessary. It's hard to know what your perceived cadence is without it. Focus on a smooth pedal stroke and try to do rides at a higher cadence than you're used to. Do intervals where you spin as fast as you can while staying smooth and over time you'll be able to improve.

Finally got a computer. It seems my normal cadence is around 95 (higher than I thought it would be), and it usually stays above 90 and under 105. I start getting saddle bounce around 105 unless going up hill or really focusing at not bring my legs up too high when pedaling.
Also, my first ride with the computer may have pushed me to ride harder. My time to get home was pretty good even though I was riding into 10mph headwind and my legs are exhausted from riding everyday.
